I don't buy the sun. What did it say? Anything concrete or just a notional story?

I don't know what he'd come back to honestly. I think it would be a stupid idea anyway but I don't even see a route back in for him to the level he was at with Cordoba and Poonsawat.

Fair play to Ward for pulling off the upset. Was in the pub so I was only semi watching it but that's a remarkable achievement for the kid. I'd say he won plenty of people a few bob.

i just seen the ward fight. Egan looked the much more polished boxer but Ward seemed to have a huge power advantage. I liked his defense as well.
What are his plans? i would imagine he will turn pro fairly soon

There was a wee piece in the NOTW today on Carlos. Ringside are doing a profile piece on Carl on this weeks show. :good

It was a bit galling McGuigan trying to hype the Bulgarian that Carl is going to pummel in Huddersfield - i.e. 'the bulgarian is coming to win' etc. This is a keep busy fight, and there is nothing wrong with that at all. Save the bigger fights for headlining shows in Belfast etc, not on an under card in Huddersfield - totally understandable.

Ward should nt turn pro just yet I think he could clean up as an am .win a medal In England which he is well capable of then turn pro when he is about 21 . I think it would be worth putting a bet on that lad winning a world title by 25

True enough Gasman but he has to do it. You can tell by the way Carlos mentioned his opponent on this site that, while he's not overlooking him or taking him for granted, he certainly isn't under the illusion he should be worried about him.

While it might be refreshing if McGuigan actually said 'ah yeah look we're just keeping busy until we get a big fight back in Belfast sorted' it's too easy to backfire. a) what happens if the Hungarian produces a miracle punch or something miraculos and you end up with egg on your face and b) if you say Carlos is going to beat him easy then no one will pay attention to the fight and there are no column inches to be had from 'Frampton set to smash EuroBum inside 3 rounds'.

Anyway we need Carlos somewhere a bit more viable than Huddersfield ffs! I can't be going to ferret down the trousers country just to watch him bash some poor former soviet vassel.

I havent got the paper in front of me now - I didnt buy it - just read it at my parents house earlier. It was about 10 pages from the back. Maybe there are two different editions i.e. north and south? I am in the north.
