I will go out at 11am tomo. Come home at 2pm for the rugby then go back out at 7 when it's finished.

Luckily my friends have next to no knowledge of the sweet science so follow what i say. My mates who think they know whats happening are alot more annoying, ive got an Irish mate who was saying for ages that Abraham was gonna knock every in the S6 out and all this other rubbish. end of the day i have more arguements with people on here about boxing than i ever do in person. I agree with alot thats been said before though i love watching exciting fights after a few drinks with my mates becasue they love it and everyone gets into it but when its a more technical fight they lose interest and i lose patience with people talking and walking infront of the screen while im trying to watch whats happening. I find alot of my mates lose interest if someone isnt knocked down in the first round of so. However that said anything that gets people thinking/talking about boxing in an interested light is a good thing in my eyes

Worst thing I hear (and I hear it all the time) about Khan is 'he's another Prince Naseem'.

How f'n ignorant can you get!!!??!!? From a boxing standpoint, 1000000% different.

They're literally making a snap judgement based on the colour of his skin. I hear it from all sorts of casuals, not necessarily the kinda' peeps I'd call a 'mate' mind you.

 

That shite about Abraham was consistently spouted on ESB when it was clear that (but for his punch) he was a very limited fighter with a **** defence. People thought his defence was good just because he held his hands high!:nut

 

His defence was pretty good, at 160.

 

His defense wasn't the issue against Froch, it was his movement.

 

That's true. And against Dirrell it was Dirrells handspeed, which most people agreed beforehand was the only way to break through Arthurs defence consistently. Frochy mixed up his attack, didn't stay in the pocket long enough for the short-armed Abraham to land anything significant, and basically employed a perfect gameplan against a dangerous, but STATIC opponent.

This wasn't big news 'Johnson Knows', everyone knew this beforehand. Everyone (myself included) doubted Froch had the discipline to keep a gameplan like that up and stay out of harms way. Against all odds, he did it.

 

A fight like Haye v Harrison is ideal for the pub with your mates, but the average SFN would really **** me off having people rambling in the background as I am concentrating.

I recall Dazzo Williams fighting and a mate said "I like HW's and the likes of Benn etc, but how can you watch these little whimps?"

If only I could have invited Dazzo round!!!

 

A barber who was cutting my hair once was passionately bashing Hatton whilst praising Calzaghe. And when I asked why this was so, he said "Well it's obvious, Hatton lost to that black guy from America, whereas Calzaghe beat everyone he fought."

I felt like correcting him and making him look stupid in the process, but I didn't want him to **** up my hair. So I just said "yeah, true"

 

The problem is barbers are experts in everything. My barber would have won the World Cup in South Africa if Fabio had stepped down an the FA came to him with their begging bowl

Barbers wisdom is pretty much the same as cab drivers wisdom. You could have shared some wisdom with him and he would have been passing it off to the next customer as his own. I won't pick on barbers though, they have a job to do and feel they have to talk to get the tips. My barber knows she just has to sort my eyebrows out as well as my hair and she'll get a generous tip, mainly because I'd be too embarassed to ask anyone else :good

 

Alot of MMA friends. Who kinda follow the sport watching all the big UFC shows. Sadly im of that era . Luckily i keep the boxing flag flying high.
