    Totally BS thread...

Nobody knows if a prime Lewis would've won against a prime Vitali or today's Wlad. It could go either way. Lewis maybe the favorite with a 60:40 against both but not more. Everything else is pure hate or "nuthuggery".

True enough, but I'd probably set the odds at about 65-35. Regardless you're right there are no guarantees, but one thing is certain, having watched Lewis throughout his career, that was no prime Lewis in the ring. He was much slower and less co-ordinated than he usually is and he has a history of blasting out big guys, such as Ruddock, Golota, Grant, etc. so he's at least got to be considered a huge favorite. That said, neither of the K brothers are push overs and either could possibly win. Interesting enough I feel that if Lewis never got Wlad out of there in the first 4 rounds, then he'd have a much better chance than his brother at beating Lewis. He has superior skills to Vitali, but seems to lack that grit and gets lost if someone with power is on the inside.

I just watched Lewis-Vitali again for the first time in a while and Lewis looks slow, ponderous and just generally lethargic (although Vitali looks the same too), until the 5/6 round when Lewis decided to go head-hunting. Then I rewatched the Ruddock, Bruno and Golota fights to remind myself that Lewis was never that slow before and it's like watching a different fighter. Those upper-cuts are still monstrous though, I don't know how Vitali shook them off so easily.

Some klitschko fans are beyond ridiculous.

I could understand these hypothetical H2H discussions if Lewis and Vitali had never fought but come on they did and Lewis right at the end of his career messed up Vitali's face. Vitali was slightly ahead on the cards but the tide had definately turned, if the doc hadn't stopped the fight Lewis would have within a couple more rounds.

Old fat Lewis TKO's Prime Vitali, how can anyone make a case for Vitali winning a prime v prime hypothetical fight?

I agree, he simply wasn't the same fighter he use to be and this is likely why he retired. It's not that Vitali wouldn't have been a handful regardless of when they fought, but it had to be frustrating to know he couldn't put together combinations the way he use to. His footwork especially was terrible during that fight. So this loss of skills forced him to turn it into a fight.

I'm not sure why Klitschko fans don't realize this, my best guess is that they simply never watched a prime Lewis hell I think some of them are young enough to have not seen the fight when it happened. A 21 year old poster would have been about 13-14 when that fight happened. I'm 48 so I've seen a lot of boxing in my time, including prime Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, SRL, Hagler, Hearns and of course Duran. Golden age of boxing.

But how Vitali took that upper cut I'll never know, huge respect to him for that, cause that punch would have KO'd a lot of fighters..Probably has something to do with Vitali's height as perhaps the power wasn't the same by the time it reached his chin as it would have been against a shorter fighter.

They really can't, especially if they look at Lewis career from being to end. But I suspect most of V.K. fans are in their early 20's and simply never saw a prime Lewis. Even if they saw his last fight, probably the vast majority of them would have been teenagers, or younger, when that fight took place.

I wouldnt say either were prime. Lennox didnt train like he should of taken Vitali lightly Vitali ****ed up tho. He had him in trouble in the 1st couple of rounds failing 2 finish him. Lennox got his bearings back gaining the W.

I'm 37 and have seen a lot of Lewis fights. He was koed by Rahman and had difficulties against opponents that weren't on the same level like prime Vitali / Wlad. I say it again: Lewis has to be the favorite in this theoretical matchup but to say Wlad and/or Vitali would've no chance is pure hatery or "nuthuggery".

I agree, except I probably wouldn't use Lewis' worst fights to use as a comparision otherwise you could bring in 3-4 fights who to put it politely Wlad struggled against. A more valid comparision would be to assume all three show up at their absolute best, which is normally the case when making hypothetical matchups. And under that situation it really is hard to see how Vitali could win, considering he was at his best against a clearly past his best Lewis and lost.

I'm going against the consenus of an mid-early KO & saying TKO, ref/doc stoppage anytime after the 9th.

Vitali would be solid, physically strong & durable. But prime Lewis would still have his legs, his jab would be much crisper & after the first few rounds would know he had Vitali all worked out.

Vitali is a proud warrior & tough, he puts up a brave front but is being caught with big shots in every round after the 3rd. Behind on the scorecards, bleeding heavily & willing to continue the fight is stopped around the 9-10th.

The crowd rise & applaud as the 2 fighters embrace, Lewis with a slight bruise above one eye & Vitali in a terrible state.

Instead of that we will get Haye vs Wlad, which wont be as memorable as the fight these 2 had.
