At this stage in his career Marquez is there for the taking and I would definitely give Rios a very good shot. Rios is a tough MF that imposes his will so the only way I see him losing is to a speedster that rides his bike all night.

He's the WBA "regular" champ. JMM is the actual WBA and actual actual actual champ. :D

I can see Marquez absolutely raping him early but I dunno how well an ageing Marquez can hold up. Earlier JMM would have destroyed him though.

Yeah. But hell, if he's good enough to be a title holder, he is good enough to challenge the best of the division.

I don't think he can take JMM either but let's take it one step at a time. The ideal next step for Rios is to fight either Guerrero or Soto. A fight with Katsidis might be fun as well.

 And YOU get a belt for participating in the "exploitation of casual sports fans not knowing who the **** is champion, let's ****emover for title fight prestige prices" world championship! ...

But, Des...is he good enough to be the uber doober WBA champion? That's my question, Des. Or, of course, there's the WBA interim emeritus super champion in recess, Nate Campbell. Can Rios beat him?

    No.

    Yes.

I think I may actually hold that belt myself.

Jmm woud take this kid to school. Rios hits hard and is gritty but he doesn't move his head. Got hit way too much. Hopefully garcia and him look over the tape and work on defense. I couldn't care less either way. I think getting hit in the head might beat the ******ness out of him.
