:rofl I gotta say, I let GKB's record fool me. Aguirre's was actually no better, to be honest, he's just had less fights so therefore had less losses aswell. I better not drop down the rankings for this! OH and nice one Kirk for picking up Teon Kennedy vs Jorge Diaz, that fight should be good :good
I have to admit I got fooled last time by Baas (fighting Romero) Ignoring some guys here who put up warning signs, I knew this guy was better than he looked. So when I saw him fighting a guy who lost 7 of his last 9 (!!!), only winning against guys with losing records it was pretty clear who to pick! :yep Sometimes records fool you (like with Keb Baas), but in Aguirre's case it certainly doesn't. Also psyched about some upcoming fights here, didn't make my picks for next month yet. Maybe this afternoon. :good
Wow too bad you picked Aguirre. Had you not you'd have gone undefeated this weekend and probably be bumped up to champion My knockout percentage took a hit this weekend with only 2 out of 7 wins.:verysad Next weekend isn't half bad! Though I must admit it annoys me a bit that it's Judah that get's a crack at the title, and not Matthysse. I dont know why I find my self excited for Hatton/Alvarez.. It seems like a complete mismatch.. but I'm actually looking forward for it.:bbb
I don't know why I thought Aguirre was anygood. It's time to make some more educated picks I guess. Yeah, Judah hardly earned his shot. I think Mabuza will slaughter him though, he won't start slow like Matthysse did against Judah, and his work rate, power and relentlesness is something to behold. I can't see Judah escaping quite so easily in this one. I'm looking forward to the fights between the prospects this month. Sillakh - Despaigne (is that this month?) and Kennedy - Diaz should be class fights.
Woooohohohohohohohoooooooooooooooooo! What a fight! This is what boxing is all about, skills, high action, drama, comeback, knockout. Feel bad for Acosta who was literally schooling Rios but you can't stop such a determined fighter so it happened as a I predicted: Bam Bam got to the classy champ and finally broke him down. Respect for both, and the NEW! Thinking of his chances, his major advantage will be his physical strength which would be a major force vs. JMM, Soto, but I think, despite his lack of power, that Miguel Vazquez has the chance to outslick Bam Bam over 12. Question will be the scores.
KIRK! Lately the thread gone so wild, deep and filled with a lot of quality pictures and stuff that it's becoming almost impossible to track down the calendar and standings. Luckily for us you can edit the first few posts of the thread, so how about simply copy+pasting the actual calendar, the betting challenges and at least the 1st 30 names from the standings there? You can also edit your other posts at the beginning of the year and update with other standings. So any time anyone opens the thread will see the latest updates and challenges right away and won't have to search back several pages. Not much of a work because once you're finished updating the regular way, a simple copy+past shouldn't take more than a minute for all 4-5 opening posts. :thumbsup Please keep up the good work, as for many others, this is one of the main reasons I remain on this board (obviously having a long look at my name among the champions knowing I am the best ever and will win this year easily). :deal
I take it. Raise to $50 maybe or $20 at most? I'm ready to go to $100 in total on this one, I pick Judah. I'm still looking for brave Dzizniruk, Mayorga, M. Hatton and Casey challengers!
This is a good idea. The pages are turning so fast these days. It's me a mystery how you can keep up Kirk!
Ouch! I've got 2 black eyes this week. Vlasov and Acosta both lost. :| But hey . . . all props to Rios. The guy absorb Acosta's best punches and break him down methodically. A great fight! :good
