I'm not discounting Rios' chances, but people are saying: I mean what the **** :huh. Is Khan, himself, just gonna decide not to improve? Rios has got the style to give Khan fits, and I'd be confident in his chances to against Khan now rather than later - where Khan would have moved up to 147, and improved in certain areas.
That's right, I keep forgetting how ESB works. But according to most here, he's just an average fighter with good speed. He has: - Poor power - Poor chin - Poor footwork - Poor defence - Poor movement - Poor combinations Yet despite all this, he manages to beat the most relentless and dangerous puncher of the division.
I'm not saying Rios should be the next guy to fight Khan because obviously Khan vs Bradley is ideal. Rios vs. Khan is possible and IF it happens I would love to watch it. Pressure busts pipes. And Khan, in my eyes, although a good boxer, hasn't quite proven to me to be a real solid pipe.
khan beats rios, way to much speed for rios to handle. If maidana couldnt beat khan rios cant either.
Khan has the reach and the speed to keep away from Rios' inside fighting. Let Rios fight a decent jr.WW and then we'll see if he's ready for Khan.
If I was guiding Khan's career, I'd avoid Rios until he really needs to fight him. By then, hopefully, Khan would be more capable of handling these type of fighters. Although I've not watched last night's fight yet, I believe Rios' style is all wrong for him.
Murray is in a lose situation. Not even another option. Murray has to be the stronger fighter to even stand a chance against a top fighter. He'd be giving up a strength, size, and skill advantage to Rios. It would be all action while it lasted, but pretty uncompetitive. Murray would get demolished. Would be fun to watch however.
Its not pressure Khan has serious issues with, its one punch power. Maidana was always coming forward against Khan, but it was only when he landed those devastating power shots that Khan was troubled. Rios doesnt have the power of Maidana, nowehere near it. Add to that Rios has trouble with speed, which Khan has in abundance. I'm not one to make bold predicitions, especially against fighters I like, but trust me on this one: Khan would make mince meat of Bam Bam.
