Though Billy's argument about Burns holding the belt means little.

Matt Hatton may win the strap but will he be the best in England at that weight?

Are you trying to make people dislike Burns or something? Because despite going into a bout with Joseph Layrea off the back of another average fight, people still give a **** and support him. If every time an opinion is expressed that isn't 100% favourable to Ricky Burns, be it his opponents, his level of ability, his achievements, his tattoos, whatever, and you feel the need to be a dick about it then we won't have any good discussions about him on anything and he will end up loosing support. I won't hold it against Ricky if you or anybody else is a **** though, its not him coming on here revelling in the defeat of a popular European Champ because a bunch of posters felt he would be a decent opponent for Burns before hand.

I believe that foster was a great opponent for ricky burns but also believe ricky would out box him with ease . This is not being disrespectful of foster I would think after last nights bout foster might reflect where his future lies as he looked drained and the body punches he took where very powerful. so good luck to ricky in his fight as he is a true gent

why are you even talking about burns v foster, foster will have to re establish himself again at british level again, burns would outbox him if they ever met, burns has won the world title weather some of you like it or not,get off the lads back and hope he can win a few more fights yet and bring some glory for himself and his trainers

After Foster's farce of a defence last night i think it's quite safe to say Burns would not have lost to Foster, i was way disappointed with Foster.....

Burns may not be a huge puncher but he would have dealt with Foster Jr no problem jusy like the belgian boy did, Burns will defeat Laryea then go onto a unification fight with Fana, go on Ricky boy we're behind you ;)

To be honest i dont understand this whole argument (if it was even one in the first place). As a HUGE Ricky Burns fan, me personally would have much rather watched Foster Jnr v Ricky than the African fellow that he is fighting soon as i think that it would have been a much more exiting fight both in build up and in action. I think Ricky would have fairly beaten Foster on points at least imo but i was still pretty gutted the way he got beat last night. After all he seems like a good honest guy who gives his all no matter who he fights and deserves the support of all british fans when fighting a guy from a diferent country.
