i've said it for a while he is an a level coach he moulded rios and victor ortiz, trained vargas with his father, trained joan guzman earlier in his career, trained brian viloria and steven luevano.
It depends. He has some good names , but should he have really let margarito go 12??? I think Donaire has the kind of talent that comes once in a generation and I dont think Garcia does anything but get him fit.

donaire's conditioning coach michael bazzel and his track coach remy korchemny work on his conditioning, robert garcia works the game plan and tactics.
There was a reason Nonito Jr. chose Robert Garcia after firing his dad. He was one of the best trainers in California.
He's not there yet but Donaire will be his ticket to greatness just like what PAC is to Roach. All other fighters he trained are just a bonus.
I think hes a pretty good trainer. Hard to say just how good, but Donaire has improved under him. It was the same Margarito as always and Rios is still pretty basic in the skills department despite being tough as nails. Did anyone else notice Garcia was drinking water from the waterbottle in the corner while giving instructions to Rios? I just thought that was funny
he has improved margo slightly, it was hard to tell from the beating he took against pac but when garcia first got him to train him for roberto garcia (margos opponent before pac) he said he wont change a thing of margo but just encourage more headmovement and some parrying.
i liked garcias comment after the 3rd or 4th round, he said something like.... "fight smart, move your head and throw combinations, what did you think he was gonna be easy? hes a world champion for a reason"
Blevel, highly overrated. Robert Garcia didn't build Donaire up. Margarito and Rios fight the same way every fight.
