C Dawson is to appear on the Pascal vs Hopkins undercard possibly against A Diaconu or L Andrade. The winners will then face.
Now here could be the problems. Dawson was found wanting when he stepped up in class. If Dawson fights the limited Andrade he will win very clearly one way or the other, but if Dason fights Diaconu, Dawson will probably suffer another defeat as Dawson would not have faced pressure like Diaconu could put on him, and doesnt react well when attacked with any intensity.
So chances are Dawson will continue to avoid Diaconu like he did before and face Andrade, which would most likely give Dawson a clear victory.

    But...
If Hopkins beats Pascal, will Hopkins fight Dawson as Hopkins ducked Dawson for a long time?

    If...
Dawson fights Diaconu and Diaconu wins, and Pascal beats Hopkins, who will want to watch Pascal - Diaconu a third time?

I guess we will just have to wait and see

I don't think Dawson would have much trouble with Diaconu, although I do like the Shark.

I think people are terrribly underestimating Dawson due to his uninspired performance vs Pascal. But despite the outcome, he still could have won that fight as he was in the process of taking it to Pascal when he suffered the gash. He also showed that he has better skills, if and when his fickle self chose to use them.

If he is at all motivated by the loss, and is now willing to take the fight to his opponent from now on, the guy will be the class of the division, bar none. It may or may not happen, it's up to Dawson. If he continues to fight tentatively and expects to bag rounds based on reputation, he won't get far.

So if Hopkins wins do you think Hopkins - Dawson will happen as Hopkins avoided Dawson for years

I doubt it. I think he retires.

But I thought you defended the limited Andrade when defending Kessler's resume? :think

In all seriousness, Dawson is an odd cat. He has skills but can underwhelm. I think he can have an easy time with Diaconu, but you never know. Having said that, I tend to agree that he'll probably try to get Andrade anyways.

To answer the other questions....I doubt Hopkins and Dawson fight. Dawson really struggles to sell. Maybe if they held this fight in Canada? Kendall Holt-Timothy Bradley sold about 8k or so in Canada so I'm sure Hopkins-Dawson would actually sell better in Canada than in the U.S. especially if Dawson beats Diaconu.

I would not mind seeing Pascal vs. Diaconu a 3rd time, but I don't find it necessary. Pascal won both times fairly convicingly (8-4 type scores, even though the fights were exciting) and once even with Pascal having his shoulder popped back in 3 times during the fight. However, I wouldn't be totally opposed to it.

Dont remember defending Andrade but remember noting Kessler beat him when undefeated and dangerous and was the first to expose Andrade.
Also Andrade looks alot better at SMW than he has LHW

Hopkins wasn't really "ducking" Dawson, though. He saw Dawson for what he is - a dull fighter with no fan base and therefore limited revenue potential. In many ways, the dawson loss was the best thing to happen to the light heavyweight division because it led to the hopkins pascal fight, the controversy that came afterwards and the overall rejuvenation of interest in the division. All three of them are now marketable. Hopkins would take the fight with dawson now.

How would we know if Andrade looks better at LHW when he hasn't fought a meaningful fight at that weight? At any rate, I don't think Andrade "looks" good at any weight.

BHOP posted on Twitter that he wants to fight another 4 times before he retires... his dream list was Pascal rematch, Dawson, Bute, and i can't remember the last one

Correct. My mistake, I thought Andrade fought Mack at LHW but that was at SMW. Still knowing that Andrade is slow and limited I doubt he will look faster at LHW

Hopkins should be careful...he's still pushing 46...two more fights and he should call it a day

It's incredible how Andrade is being disregarded on this site. The guy is a tough customer to deal with for any fighter.

Bailey, you correctly pointed out that Dawson has trouble against pressure fighters and then claim Diaconu would be too much for Dawson.

The fact is that Andrade is much more of a pressure fighter than Diaconu is. All Diaconu truly has over Andrade, is better one punch power.

If limited Glenn Johnson can take Dawson into the deep waters, then Andrade sure can also.

I actually think that Andrade would have a great chance at beating Diaconu also, because Diaconu isn't the best fighter either while being pressured.

Bottom line, at his best, Dawson probably beats Diaconu more convincingly than he does with Andrade and I'm saying this liking Diaconu much more as fighter, since he fights outta Montreal.

Hopkins already mentioned Dawson as one of his targets, therefore if HBO still want to make that fight and Hopkins beats Pascal, he will fight Dawson.

I agree. I think Diaconu is stylistically much easier for Dawson than Diaconu. I think that Dawson would win against both but more easily against Diaconu.

People are spitting on Andrade because Bute knocked him out. It's not because Bute is good, it's because Andrade is garbage. :verysad
