That fight when you look back on a persons career made them go from a hof fighter to a atg boxer. e.g. Joe frazier when he beat Muhammad Ali -Atg fighters -which fight made them a atg
I know what you mean, but I think he mean't "career defining" fights. Because then I would have put Tarver's win over RJJ, but people would balk that he wasn't an ATG (I disagree).
JMM when he beat an ancient Casamoyor.....oh wait you're talking about actual ATG's? Barrera's 2nd win over Morales.
From the modern era Duran bt Leonard Hearns bt Duran Leonard bt Hagler Hagler bt Hearns Holyfield bt Tyson Whittaker drew with Chavez (obviously not a win but still...) Roy Jones bt John Ruiz (more of multi weight achievement I know) Trinidad bt De La Hoya Mayweather bt De La Hoya Mosley bt Marg (bit of a surprising one I know) Hopkins bt Pavlik Barrera bt Naz (my personal fav) Winky Wright bt Trinidad Pacquaio bt Cotto (questionable for many reasons but memorable)
trinidad could hardly qualify as an all time great off that win,so many people disputed it and i think b-hop became an all time great with his win over trinidad or maybe dlh but by the time he faced pavlik,he was already an atg good list overall though
When B Hop beat Trinidad n De La Hoya he became a sure fired HOF.. when he beat Tarver he became an ATG top 40/30... now he could be embarking on top 20 ATG potentially....
If anyone considers Cotto and ATG then it would beat once he beat Mosley but.. many just view him as a HOF.. I'm on the fence, i really like Cotto... RJJ was when he beat Ruiz but a little bit before then....
I agree :good simple example for those who doesnt understand this if Golota would have beaten Lewis he'd become a champion and obviously ATG of course the fight that would everyone remember would be his fights with Bowe, right :yep but he didnt win Lewis and of course have not become ATG so this means that those fights DID NOT turned him ATG? :hey contradiction :-((
