B, I am confused by all this.
On one hand you state that Joe Woodman,Langford's manager challenged
Jim Jeffries to a fight in 1904,whilst Sam was a welterweight, fighting Jack Blackburn, and Joe Walcott, the Barbados Demon...
On the other hand, you state that Sam Langford said, "the one fighter I want no part of is Jim Jeffries ",was said in 1904, when Jeffries was still champion and as you mention Sam Langford was about 140 pounds.
Question to you B- If Sam Langford in 1904 wanted no part of the 70 pound
heavier Jim Jeffries,as you agree, why would his mgr,Joe Woodman challenge
Jeffries to a fight ? There is a contradiction, I believe.
It is one, or the other B, or was Woodmans challenge just Boxing hyperbole ?
Jeffries at 210-20 would have crushed any 140 pounder that ever lived.
Jeffries was most likely the greatest COMBINATION of natural strength and
sheer endurance, over the long haul, that fisticuffs ever produced, by all who saw him. What say you, B ?

what you talking about, el janitardo?:huh

I haven't said nothing about big whitey pants. But since you bring it up, it is kind of cheap and convenient that you claim stylistically he's all wrong for the big men, whilst the only noteworthy guys he fought were half his size.

Woodman threw out a challenge on Langford's behalf, he excluded Jeffries, sorry if my wording confused you.

I am just taking the magnitude of some of your picks against old time fighters and fliping it round so that the modern fighter is on the wrong end of it.

Woodman also issued this challenge whilst in the States.
Lewis challenging Langford reinforces my thesis, Lewis was a middleweight.
