I saw a ESPN special last night, titled 'Ali or Tyson: who was the greatest?' Those that say Tyson is overrated and is only rated by casual fight fans are ******ed. He's an all time great who had the potential to be within the top 3 GOAT'S
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Yeah, right. Another Klit-hugger scans boxrec and shows his ****ing ignorance.
Easily the most overrated ever. Never beat anyone but tomato cans in the weakest era of HW's ever in the late 80's. Got KTFO by every real fighter he faced.
He is overrated by the majority, although I doubt the sport will see another heavyweight burst onto the scene the way Tyson did.
The 80's was weak - yes. The 2000's is 1000 times weaker. Don't act as though Vitali and Wladimir are fighting ATG's. Hmmm let us compare Tyson era Larry Holmes Spinks Thomas Bruno Biggs Tucker Berbick Smith Ruddock Holyfield vs Klitschko era Haye Valuev Peter Johnson Austin Sosnowski Arreola Old Rahman Old Briggs Gomez no contest
Don't get me wrong, this guy was a brute in the ring. Knocking out Micheal Spinks and an out of prime Larry Holmes. But when it comes to big name wins, thats really it. He got KOed by Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield, and Lennox Lewis at the end. Tyson was a great fighter, just overhyped a little to much.
Tyson against top 10 opposition Mike Tyson 17-5-0 (13) Ferguson, Tillis, Berbick, Smith, Thomas, Tucker, Biggs, Holmes, Tubbs, M.Spinks, Bruno (x2), Williams, Douglas, Ruddock (x2), Seldon, Holyfield (x2), Botha, Lewis, Williams now bear in mind he was so far faded after prison (just after his ruddock victories) that any loss at that point means little in terms of detraction. A faded tyson absolutely mauled seldon, bruno, golota and both. all of his losses bar douglas came when he was clearly past his best. a ceratinty for top 15 on a HW list.
:verysad no one said he was the greatest ever , but in his prime pre prison close to unbeatable , he lost five years in prison who knows what he would have achieved
He was underrated. Thomas and Tubbs former world champions and very talented, Biggs undefeated Olympic Gold medalist and very talented, Tucker back then very talented.
