    As far as currently yes... But all time Joe Louis and Dempsey are right there.

    In Germany the most famous hws are Ali, Tyson, Schmeling, Louis and the Klitschkos. Everybody knows them, boxfans or not. When somebody says his name is Max about 50% of time people will answer "Ah, like Schmeling." True story.

    I always try to take my judging of fame of what non boxing fans know when i talk to them and off that list i would say Holyfield and Lewis. Holyfield as the guy like Kally said who got his ear bit off a Lewis as the big guy who beat Tyson and "the Klitschko". That is just from what i gather talking to people in the UK and maybe thats why they know Lewis so i will go with Holyfield.
    Louis was pretty damn famous back in the day but i dont know many non boxing fans who know about him today.

    Hmm Id say its a tie between Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield , its deffinatly not Bowe or Johnson thats for sure

    In Germany most non-boxing fans don´t know Schmeling because he was hw champ but because he beat Joe Louis. That´s how famous he is over here.
