Without a doubt, the dark horse of the Lightweight division. With victories over the likes of Bredis Prescott, and Ji-Hoon Kim and having losses to only Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Timothy Bradley early in his career, what do you guys think of this guy? How do you see his next fight playing out, and how do you see him do against the other LWs such as Marquez, Rios, Soto, Katsidis, Acosta, Guerrero, ect, ect...???
Man the LW division is looking stacked. Vasquez would be game vs anyone of them and I can see him upsetting maybe one or 2. (Katsidis, Guerrero, maybe even Soto.)
Couldnt find many videos of him at youtube. Only vidoes of him that ive seen there are recaps of his fights with Kim and Prescot. One thing to notice bout him tho is that he isnt your typical mexican pressure brawler type. Dude is somewhat "slick" and likes to box from the outside. He will be fighting on the undercard of the Cotto-Mayorga fight, so theres a very good chance where you can check him out! :good
A rios/vasquez would be nice....but wouldn't mind seeing vasquez beat soto so aztecas can say vasquez too is on steroids
He's one of those guys that has the ability to make you fight his fight, to mess you around. Different in style, but in that sense, a lot like Cermeno. I think he will have success against guys that dont fight with patience, guys who come in aggressively looking to land big punches, but a more refined fighter with a jab, and a bit of patience, will work him out. He has the potential to mess you about, more than him being a particularly skilled fighter imo.
