Never saw him fight He has an impressive record, but i still feel it would be a shock, if Martinez should lose
Dzinziruk is an excellent fighter that often tends to fight to the level of his opponents though. It is an incredibly tough fight that Martinez deserves credit for taking. Thing is American fans are so insulated to the world of boxing and dont think a fighter is good if they dont fight in America or arent recognised to them. Consider Martinez was barely known to America before he looked unlucky to get a draw with Cintron. America would have said Martinez is a nobody, but because he has exposed some hype jobs in Cintron, Williams and Pavlik, he gets credit when they were fighters that hadnt really been stepped up and exposed already. Martinez isnt a hype job but has exposed a few. When I note America are insulated to worldwide boxing they are also given false beliefs, a good example is often The Ring magazine ratings, they had Y Foreman above Dzinziruk for beating Santos, a fighter Dzinziruk had beaten years previously. In Dzinziruk, Martinez will be facing a tough fighter who also isnt a hype job and is adaptable. If I had to pick a winner I would go with Dzinziruk
Pirog has a very pretty style to watch, but I do not think his hands and feet are fast enough to keep up with Martinez.
to be honest I have only seen 2 fights from Pirog one is the jacobs fight and vs a guy named jantuah, I agree his style is good I dont know if he would be able to beat martinez or if martinez would be to fast like you say but its definitely a fight that I nwould like to see this year:thumbsup
DiBella has been whining constantly about this fight; this was not his call at all. Also many people have been predicting that even if Martinez wins, he won't look particularly impressive due to Dzinziruk's style. I'm sure some people would be whining about Hopkins, Taylor, or Pavlik for taking this fight, but such critics would more properly be classified as haters (as with you and Martinez).
Also gave props to Bradley for taking on Alexander. Supposed to be a superfight. And you know how boring that fight was.
Very decent all around fighter and mostly technical. Keeps hands high and looks for mistakes, hoping to get you back with a counter. Physically slightly the bigger man, but not as athletic as La Maravilla. Very focused fighter though. Hasn't shown anything to be on Martinez's level, so can't really tell if it will go the distance. The Razor also seems to be resourceful with his movement and punches, but puts a different type of pressure where he stands right in front of you, throws short punches. Reminds me abit of a southpaw version of Kotelnik. Tough to beat and won't look good beating him. Maybe won't be as physical as Williams and Pavlik, but Martinez will be in with a boxer with good technical skills. Looking forward to see how La Maravilla handles this style.
