good stoppage it was, taylor had nothing left.

nice job mr.steele, you saved mel from more unneccessary punishment.

That fight always leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I always feel taylor should have been able to finish those seconds.
But if this was a 15th round fight nobody would have complained.
I guess taylor should have taken a knee in those final sec so he would have been able to pull trough.

There was 2 secs left when Steele called it. I agree with the stoppage tho, when a fighter doesn't respond, you have to stop it.

he should have stayed off JCC and boxed him, instead of letting his ego get involved.

Taylor was a ****ing animal man, but still lost. Sad. The stoppage was a good one. Sad Taylor was a veggie after that.

Hmm while I agree that the stoppage was correct, I dont think if he hadn't stopped it there would have been more punishment, as the bell would have rung.

Taylor wasn't the same afterwards, but was still pretty good. He went to 147 and won a world title there.

He was always going to struggle at 147 though. Too small, brawl happy, and not a bug puncher.

    Agree.

Too small to to compete on the outside, not enough power to keep his opponent at bay, and not enough durability/defense to stay inside.

Talent pool at 147 was about to be pretty deep too.

    Yeah.

One of the reasons I say what I said, is in a round about way, that is what Larry Merchant said in commentary during the Espana fight, and I thought he hit the nail on the head, especially when you consider the Norris fight to.
