Did that start before or after his infamous "I'm going to Burger King and then taking a nap" line during the in-ring interview after he KO'ed Cameron?
This content is protected Nice looking place but holds only 3k. Demetrice King: W15 (KO 13)+L19 (KO 2)=34. Lost 4 of his last five. 6′ 2″, weighed 277 in last bout. :think
Tua is making this a low key affair for several reasons. He wants to test his shoulder to make sure it's ok in a boxing match, and he wants to finish his restricive MTV contract, with this being the third and final fight. He's fighting in his backyard, as Tua lives down the road from the Pacific Events Centre. The prices are ridiculously low, and he wants Pacific Island, primarily Samoans, to support it. His undercard features Maselino Masoe, a former world champ, on the undercard, as well as up and coming Samoans. He's fighting Demetrice King because he's tough and comes forward. And he's also very beatable. Tua's next fight is in June against a credible opponent.
King is a lot like Tua. Short arms, tons of power, great chin, really low workrate. His stamina really stinks though, and he's quit after 8 rounds before just because he got too gassed. Only guy to actually knock him out was Shannon Briggs, and he took a lot of damage before getting KOed. He's also knocked out a few hype job types, like Bowie Tupou and Bermain Stiverne. I suspect Tua will pull this one out, but it shouldn't be a foregone conclusion. If Monte Barrett can put him on ***** street, King punches a hell of a lot harder than Barrett.
