Very good Euro level fight is this. Kiko's come forward style should make it a very exciting fight. If this happened back in 2007 I would have heavily favoured Booth but Kiko has improved since then and Booth has declined. I expect Kiko to win the first few rounds through sheer tenacity and maybe even hurt Booth or put him down. I think Booth will grow into the fight as it progresses and end up taking a very tight decision. Booth is there for the taking these days, Willie Casey will be back on the Euro scene after Rigo and I expect him to give Booth a very tough night should that fight happen later this year. Booth won't be holding on to that belt much longer, his days are numbered.
This will be a LOT harder than people are saying. Infact I might even tip an upset here, we'll see. You can't really compare Munroe and Booth. Yes Booth is skilled, but he's not that strong at this weight compared to Munroe. He really isn't. The main reason he lost to Steve Molitor is because he didn't have the presence to continue his good work. He wasn't exactly outclassed but he couldn't maintain his strength. I don't think Booth has the pop or the ring presence to wear down Martinez as quickly as Munroe. This will be a very difficult fight for him.
I don't understand why he doesn't go back down to bantamweight he could easily make it and i would fancy him against McDonnell.
Booth is not Munroe. Munroe used his size to lean on Kiko and wear him down. He also kept a tight guard and absorbed as many shots as possible first 4 rounds on his arms. Kiko has improved a bit also since those Munroe fights. Booth has withered a little. will be a 50/50 but I'm leaning towards Kiko.
wouldnt really say his days are numbered, still has good stamina and has the skills, think he beats kiko and casey, don't think he beats scott quigg tho the lad has the ability and youth to beat booth
He's not the fighter he was a few years ago. I think Casey would outwork him, he has a very good engine on him.
This is going to be very close either way, I see a close decision win for Booth whos the more skilled and crafty fighter, after him going through some tough spots in the fight. Martinez could definitley get the win though, he has youth and power in his side. I'd say this will be a entertaining fight no matter who wins.
If there is a god, Booth will win a world title one day, cant see it, but he deserves it. :good 3 British fighters I love watching.........Napa, Booth, Simpson.
I see it as a UD in for Booth. just a bit to clever. will not be wide though. i would rather see Booth down at Super Fly. Think he could win a world title there. theres some good fighters in the division but they all have allot of miles on the clock.
Totally agree, he could beat tomas rojas who holds the wbc title. The reason molitor beat him because he isn't strong enough at sbw but he has the craftiness and chin to do fairly well.
