May'be love of the sport, may'be make some more money. Who knows? But either way, just because he's not elite doesn't mean he shouldn't comeback. He can definitely compete against the likes of Jesse Brinkley, Allan Green, Brian Magee, Dimitri Sartison, Khoren Grevor, etc.
I hope he comes back, I started rooting for him when he became the underdogg in all is latest fights.
Taylor has heart and wouldn't be against fighting anybody in his weight region. I wish he'd call it a career, but good luck to him. I like him as a fighter.
thought he looked good in the pavlik rematch and the froch fight. fought too aggressive in the 12th against carl and paid for it. whereas against abraham it seemed he was trying to avoid being ko'ed and was gunshy. So don't see how that's gonna have improved after being heavily knocked out
JT needs to retire. He will get KTFO by too many fighters at 168. Yeah, I like excitement when I watch boxing, but I damn sure don't want to watch JT get KTFO yet again. I really feel bad for him. Wish there was another way for him to make some money. He ain't exactly the right type to sell grills, like Foreman.
after the ko losses jt has had i dout he can come back and make any kind of noise.his punch resistance is on the same level has roy jones jr.look he made a ton of money and has a loving family, its time he jut retire.
I agree that Taylor was well ahead going into the 12th, and that Froch needed a knockout. But I wish people wouldn't describe shots like that as lucky every time. The point of the game is to hit the other guy and not get hit yourself, two things. When a fan's favourite fighter scores a knockout, however the cards stand at that moment it is still considered a great knockout. However, if it is a fighter a fan doesn't particularly like, it suddenly becomes a lucky punch. I like Taylor a lot, but he is too open when going forwards, and is latterly a bit chinny. Froch had just spent twelve rounds trying to land a big shot on his chin. Whatever else you might think of Froch as a fighter, and of his performance in that fight, it was not a lucky punch. It was a pro fighter doing what he had trained to do. That he got it in the last 15 seconds or whatever it was, does not make it any luckier, in terms of the overall result of the fight, than had he got it earlier on.
i'm about as big a taylor fan as there is. followed him for a long time and think he is the textbook definition of what boxing has, does and will always need. pure class. always respectful of his opponents and gives props when he gets beat. his punch resistance isnt as bad as people say it is. he got hit by pavlik's right hand at will for 7 rounds before the end, he was seconds away from beating froch (and kelly for that matter) and it took this monster puncher in abraham 12 rounds to knock him out. he's been stopped by three monster punchers. no shame in that. danny lopez lost 3 of 4 fights, got knocked out in two of those losses and was down in the one fight in between that he won. he still came back and won a world title. shane mosley lost 4 of 6 fights and the one fight he won in between many feel he lost. he still came back and won a world title. its not out of the realm of possibility for him to make another strong run. its unlikely, but if he really wants to try, he's earned the right to do it. i'm not saying he should or shouldnt but i'll always pull for the guy.
