Hopkins was making fun of Jermain Taylor on his twitter saying Pascal could end up in the same home as him if he tries to be brave in the rematch. Don't know what he's talking about, Hopkins is the elite fighter to do the least damage to Taylor.

Anyway, I hope Taylor is recuperated from the beatings he took in his last fights. He probably shouldn't fight again, but he's earned the right for one last run.

Taylor needs to retire. As my great grandfather used to say "Once they crack, they don't come back".

Well good to meet you man, and while I feel you on the "big shot", I don't know that Sergio actually has that kind of pop, as much as he loaded up all he had in a shot that PW didn't see coming, and timed it perfect. I'm not saying it was "lucky", because he had prepared for that shot leading up to the fight. That being said, in most instances a fighter like Martinez isn't going to have the opportunity to load up and let a punch like that go and it actually land. He hasn't shown to be overly powerful in the past and I would view that as more the exception than the rule. That being said, I consider myself a fan of Martinez and I respect the hell out of him and what he's accomplished.

Uhh, i don't know, maybe to make some money? Because he enjoys fighting? He doesn't have to fight at a high level. If he wants to fight tomato cans for a few years, all power to him. But assuming he beats these guys, he will eventually get a big fight down the road. And if he loses, so what?

Same to you :) Martinez's main asset is he's such a smart fighter, and I don't think Jermain has fought smart since he hired Manny Steward. His activity level and confidence just seemed to plummet... Manny tried to rewire him and he just sort of shut down mentally. I just see Jermain getting flattened in a corner with a left hook he never saw coming. I've heard about money troubles, though, so if he really needs this, I hope I'm wrong and he fights his way back into a big money fight, win or lose on his feet.

It's hard to envision JT fighting Tomato cans. Smaller guys, sure. But this is a guy who doesn't even know what a "tune-up" fight is.

Martinez has a very good shot at beating Jermain by KO. Watch the Spinks fight. Notice how troubled Jermain was by Cory Spinks in there. Big difference when you swap Spinks out for Martinez in that fight.

Sergio Martinez has underrated power. He's got much more to bother Taylor with than Spinks did, plus the style to go along with it. I hope that fight never, ever happens for Taylor's sake.

At 168, Taylor could be alright, as long as he's not looking for a fight with the top draws there. Big money fights at 168 means he'd be putting his health on the line a bit more than he should after 3 brutal KO losses.

he should retire. he made a lot of money in his career. he should be proud of himself coming from nothing and becoming succesful.

do you guys think hopkins destroyed him mentally after their 2 fights as hopkins claims?

i do think hopkins won both fights but which fight do you think damaged him the most? pavlik, froch were KO losses but how much was taken out of him before those fights?

But Taylor always struggled against top fighters. When has he beaten a top fighter convincingly? He always gave his best and showed great heart, but in his absolute prime he struggled with Ouma, Spinks. Now that he was KO'd badly three times, how is he going to look good against the top guys? Besides, I doubt Manny is a yes man.
