Alot of people remember Hatton as that guy that got ko'd which is such a shame. As a recent convert to the church of boxing i missed hsi great years but have made an effort to watch a few of his old fights. Even with a different ref to cortez i think Hatton still loses to Mayweather eventually however, it goes to decision and is close. End of the day he beat everyone at 140 moved up to fight the p4p king and lost. No shame in that alot of respect for the man.

If Mayweather was white you’d all still boo him.

    It’s about British class.

Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? I never said who's win was better. I wasn't debating that. So what is your point?

The floyd fight was a shame really, Cortez was terrible.

Especially when you look at what he let hops do against Joe.

Hatton lost the plot beforehand anyway. If the fight was in the uk and at 140 it would have been much tighter. Floyd was a level above in the final analysis though.

The PAC fight was a fiasco, made him a load of cash but was a great against a has been, in truth.

Let's not forget Eamon Magee here, he made Hatton work like hell, put him on his arse and nearly de-railed the whole roadshow...:yep

It's fights like this where Hatton did his most learning and elevated himself to the next level...:yep

He fought the best he could v PBF but let's face it at 147 it was always going to be an ascent on Everest without oxygen...:yep Even at 140, PBF would have had too much...:yep It was not his time...:yep

Hatton chased the greenbacks and you can't fault him for that but Billy Graham was right and nobody wanted to listen to him...:yep
Roach was the man with the plan v Pac Man, I thought it was going to last longer, I really did, but the difference from between World Class and been Elite World Class was evidently clear...:yep

For me the night Ricky Hatton put his flag in the summit was against Kostya Tyszu, he was never the same after that fight, did he go to the well or did he peak that night, for me, it's a yes to both...:yep

I cannot knock Ricky Hatton, I have had some great nights of boxing and 3 fantastic trips to Las Vegas, he left the business with plenty of till and at the end of the day boxing is a brutal business...:deal

    There's only one Ricky Hatton...:happy

rickys money making/grabbing pisses me off but i have to remind myself, boxing is a business to boxers.A sport to us, but werenot getting our face punched inn!So they deserve to make a good earning.WHAT always grips me though was the lacanzo fight. The homecoming fight for my fans, what he do?Puts it on PPV.I know im contradciting myself here.
Still i followed hatton for yrs, at shows and on box.One of my greatest nights ever was the tyszu fight, incredble night.
respect to ricky for fighting pac man an floyd, when at top of there games

It's plain to see the shenanigans that went on before the Pac fight - Floyd even, the tension between him and Graham was on show there too.

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that Hatton wasn't at his best against either of those fighters.

The 2005 version would have been much more competitive.

He always struggled with southpaws as well .MaGee Urango Collazo and he got beat in the ameaturs off a German southpaw .Look at Pacquiao today different level .I still don't think Hatton was anywhere near 100 percent for Pacquiao .He said he was overtraining . He did look drained at the weigh-in . Still taking nothing away from Pac great fighter.
