Lets be clear, Pacquiao is facing the same old Mosley that Floyd fought!

-Mosley entered the fight with Mayweather with a punchers chance(nothing more, nothing less) and will do so against Pacquiao.

-Mosley had been outboxed before and shown to be limited as a boxer previous to fighting Mayweather.

-He hadnt fought in 16 months

-Was old coming into the fight vs Mayweather and is old vs Pacquiao.

  2. agreed...having said that I think Mosleys power will be too much for pacman and he'll stop him early on... Within 4 rounds...

although I thought the same thing when he fought DLH, Hatton and Margarito...

some old mosley that fought Cotto and beat an entirely OVERRATED Mayorga.

SHane's got good genes. and is relatively not shop worn.

BUT..i think it will go all down hill from round 1. It will look like ODLH/Pac

Only difference is Mosley hasn't had 16 months away from the ring...should still be beaten badly though

Difference is FLoyd fought Mosley after he just pulled off the upset of his life. emmanuel decides to try Mosley after Floyd beats his AZZ and he looks silly against Sergio Mora.

    no.

Im a pac fan but that statement is just simply not true.
At that age, an extra 12 months is a lot. an extra fight in between is a lot (mora fight)

Although shane performed POORLY against floyd, that shane mosley is a better version than this one. How he performs in the ring? who knows. maybe shane rolls back the clock. but the fact remains pac is fighting mosley who got battered by floyd for 12 rounds a YEAR ago, and looked ordinary against Mora. BS fight all round.

Mosley has been old and past his best for a long time now. The Margarito Mosley fight wasn't that big of a surprise if you know boxing, if Margarito was a slick boxer than I would have been surprised Mosley won.

How do you figure he was old (old meaning athletically faded in a significant way) if he was outboxed as he had been in the past?

:nono:nono BS--margarito was coming off the destruction of cotto. He was the favorite coming in that fight. Margarito destroyed cotto while mosley lost a close battle.

Many thought that margarito would beat mosley in a similar way he beat cotto.

Oh so because Mosley lost to Cotto by a round means that automatically Margarito would beat Mosley because he TKO'd Cotto? That's not how it works.

Cotto was outboxing and winning the fight with Margarito by a wide margin until he got walked through. Mosley has never been the type of guy that has been hurt or gotten walked through.

    Imo

Mayweather fought a Mosley who was coming off the biggest win of this stage of his career, at a time when almost everyone was saying that Mayweather was DUCKING Mosley, and wouldnt fight him. So Mosleys age was countered by his stature at the time, as being seen as one of floyds biggest threats and also with Mosley being considered by many as THE MAN at the weight.

Pac is fighting Mosley a year later, with Mosley having been completely schooled by Mayweather, and not just outboxed, but outpunched and outfought and quite frankly, embarrassed in almost every aspect for 35 minutes out of 36 minute fight. Then he goes on to show hes unable to beat Sergio Mora (who goes on to lose his very next fight), and in contrast to being considered a good threat, or the man in the division, due to Mosleys performances ALONG with his age, he has the boxing community actively wondering if its time to hang them up. This is the time when the p4p king is fighting him?

Its not JUST about age in this fight, its about where Mosley is in the world of boxing at the moment these two chose to fight him. People were indeed calling Mosley a grandpa before Mayweather fought him, but the fact is hes a long year older now then he was at that point, and has absolutely nothing to compensate for that fact.

The two situations are incomparable, imo, theres more to the criticism then just age...

    just imo
