Joe Louis & Larry Holmes fought in what was consdered weak divisions and they made up for it with quantity defenses.

Wlad is doing that plus he's collecting all the belts in a time when it's nearly impossible to do with the various promoters, politics, etc.

Besides, if Vitali retired now the WBC would have the 2 highest ranked guys for for the vacant title and the winner of that would likely want a big money fight against Wladimir. If Wlad beats the winner for the WBC belt that would certainly add to his legacy.

For the record I believe Wlad is already top 15 or so. :deal

Probably a moot point but I'm not sure Wlad can fight for the vacant WBC title if he's the champion of another org (which he would be)

I'm curious as to where you'd put Wladimir right now in the all time Heavyweight ranks?

Yep. I'm sure it all depends on what was in the contract Chisora signed.

My guess is that there is something such as being paid off as you mention, and/or a chance at the winner, etc...

And if not, well that's Chisora's/Warren's fault for not getting that in the contract.

See my post right before yours...............Wlad can't fight for the vacant WBC, but he can fight the winner of the top WBC ranked contenders.

    Nicely timed :good

Unless the winner feels like holding the belt hostage for a while with a couple of can defences

Yes, probably the next business day or two.

I don't know if Chisora really doesn't know, or if he's playing along. It could be either, imo.

Here's some info for those who (jokingly or not) are saying that WK is ducking Chisora:

It says on a Russian boxing site that Vitali was offered to Haye as a replacement for Wlad should Klitschko-jr injure himself or lose in his fight against Chisora, but Haye's answer was a definite NO. Thomasz Adamek, for example, had no problem with signing a deal that said Vitali instead of Wlad if he get injured in previous fight.

So that's why no Chisora bout before Klitschko-Haye.

BTW people shouldn't worry too much for Chisora - he's being offered a few choices. He can either accept some nice step aside money, or he can agree to replace Haye in case he pulls out again, or he can be promised a fight against the winner. If anything, Chisora should be envied by other boxers, not felt sorry for :D
