    I think Conn wins here.

In fighting Joe Louis, we don't see Conn as a pure mover on the back foot, we see him as a fighter boxing to angles. He is very rarely in one place but he is stepping to the side and opening up with combinations keeping Louis off-balance and unable to get his own shots off.

This is how Conn should fight Liston, constantly circling and stepping then coming in with shots to keep the 'Big Bear' off balance.

And so was Liston. And Liston was also slow with his hands compared to Louis. Therefore, Conn wins if he dont get careless.

Moving in and out, side to side. Never giving Louis {Liston} a clear target to punch at.

yes, louis had faster hands, no doubt, but actually i think that liston in his peak was much more mobile on his legs

Mobile, but not intelligent. If you're just watching Louis' footwork and thinking about how slow or flatfooted it is you just don't get it

Liston followed his Man around the Ring. Always moving in a straight line. Rarely varying. Tailor made for Men like Ali, or Conn, or Holmes, or Gene Tunney for that matter. Louis cut the Ring off. And was expert in manuvering his Man into a position so that he may punch.

well, i think that louis did not have the best footwork, nobody is perfect,he was great anyway, but he did not have the fastest legs.

The question of this match is when would Liston catch him because the moment he connects with a big right, Conn is done. I say Liston wins by KO before the mid rounds but he's clearly behind in the scoring.

I wouldn't write Conn off completely but I think Liston would knock him out sooner or later.
