King Arthur Abraham is going to brutally KO Ward

Well, Ward does sometimes come in leading with his head, so AA might catch him with something big. Lesser opponents than Ward have been outboxing AA for stretches of their fights though. This would be the biggest puncher Ward has ever faced so he''l have to be careful the whole 12 rounds. Quite a few people have been doing very well against AA and then were caught later in the fight. It will be interesting.

 

Arthur will ONCE AGAIN be inactive the first 4-5 rounds and give away those already. Then he will come out late headhunting but he will likely be unsuccessful landing on Ward.

I see an easy UD for Ward that will look like a technical boxing school.

If he loses, Abraham can retire after this fight. He'll be 1 in 4 after this fight, with the 1 coming from an unappealing win in a tune up vs. a journeyman. Maybe he'll get one last last payday against Sturm in a German blockbuster fight, that's about it.

 

AA is too slow but he has a puncher's chance.

Ward is very predictable. Throws his pawing and slow right jab, slides in and clinch, with head leading or throws his right and then mixes up his no-conviciton type punches.

The only way I see AA KOing Ward is when he catches him in attempting to clinch.

:good It's probably the toughest fight out there for Abraham.

Arthur has exceptional power but he wings his shots. Timing is going to be very key here...Ward is fast and has great timing, I'd be surprised if Arthur is able to catch him with any of those looping powershots of his.

Arthur needs to stop squaring up, stop taking the first 3 rounds off, and get some semblance of a jab going.

 

while the mid-range is probably correct, I don't think Ward has the tools Dirrell and Froch had. Ward is not as tall nor has huge reach as the two, is not as nearly as fast as Dirrell and doesn't punch as hard as either of them. And although Ward is a better fighter than those two, he might be in a worse position against AA. Forch and Dirrell also wisely avoided opening too much and fought a clever controlled fight, we'll see if Ward can do the same as he has a different set of tools (not to mention his tendency to be carried away to leave him too open when attacking). I think Ward eventually wins a decision, but certainly not as clear as Froch.

 

Ward is far too skilled to get caught with something stupid from the likes of Abraham. I still wish AA would connect with a few flush shots just to see how Ward handles them.

 

If only Sugar Joe was still around. He'd stop both of them in 3.

If "a few" flush shots connect, Ward will handle them like Taylor did - problem is that this is very unlikely.

 

I hope Ward gets crushed, however I dont think Abraham will be the one doing it...

Ward should win a decision; unlike Froch that schooled Abraham, Ward will go inside when the slow Abraham will miss with his punches. To win, Abraham needs to be in the best shape and he needs to attack. There is a hazard factor involved at this time; AA came as a favourite in this tournament along Kessler and now he's facing a very probable third defeat; he will be finished at elite level if he loses and i think now he learnt his lesson: he need to be more brave and to take more chances. Ward is a certain favourite but this is a dangerous fight for him because i can see Abraham desperatly attacking and connecting meaningfull shots. If Ward is really that good of a strategist and if his chin survives we might even see him stop Abraham instead of Abraham stopping him.
