I've had 8 fights so far and haven't seen any drug testing of any kind on anyone.

The Olympics have drug testing obviously but why have I seen none so far?

because its expensive and generally only at the higher levels. not sure about other places, but tours I've seen it at have had entire teams of people there specifically for it, doctors etc, so that has to add up. it can often be random, as in, last year 8 of the last 12 fights at nats were tested, picked from a hat basically. was told also that if a fighter looks unusually ripped or has seriously too much energy, they are likely to be pulled aside for it.

So basically you can't be good or they will test you?

I don't know where you are but steroids are not illegal everywhere so it may be cool in your country.

I'm not interested in steroids but once or twice a week, I will hit the vaporizer. Doesn't effect my gains in the gym.

the word "good" was not even in that quote. the terms "unusually ripped, seriously too much energy" were the focus. that was told to us by a person working directly on the testing committee.

In Texas, I don't think it's illegal but it gives me an idea of how risky it is to take a fight

It's illegal Nationwide dude. Steroids fall under like Class III of the Controlled Substances Act I believe.

High energy and very muscular is a good description of a solid athlete. You think they will test someone if a ripped guy comes in and gets his ass beat? No, but he will be tested if he destroys the competition. You don't think they would profile someone exceptional in the sport?

dude are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? the very first post i made said it is only in the higher levels of the sport. ya know, where generally the better athletes and skills are. and that it has to often do with how a person looks (unless random), or is acting, moreso then the actual skill becuz it is a fair assumption most are usually quite skilled to make it there.

Because our government has miserably failed the "war on drugs" that they've wasted countless years on and they'll never be successful at doing so.
