I think it was the other way around. He was famous but he was not universally loved. He sure knew how to stir emotions. His rants made plenty of people mad.
Yes I agree ali is a big name everywhere. but how about tyson? i know who was tyson even when i didnt give a dam **** about boxing. I would say tyson or ali is the most famour boxing ever been, note maybe not the greaters but the most famous for sure
He was not a racist. Oh because he don't trust white people that makes him a racist? I think most people would call that smart. (Or racist if your white.:yep)
Here's an example: Frazier was actually friends with Ali. When Ali was in trouble for dodging the draft, Frazier gave him money and helped him get his license back. The way Ali treated him after was disgraceful. Frazier was really hurt and upset with the way Ali acted towards him and completely hates him to this day because of it.
Maybe, but Floyd Patterson was the most likeable. But, people love the story of the once bad guy turned good guy so Ali, Tyson, Foreman, guys like that will always be more beloved, but not always in the truest sense. Nice guys always do finish last, but I think the kind of admiration that people have for guys like Patterson or Moore is more genuine even if there are less people.
