When manny pacquiao wasnt regarded as the biggest attraction in boxing he was fighting the best like marquez and barrera, the best opponents out there to fight. This is one of the things floyd mayweather didnt do he avoided fighters like coto(prime)and margarito instead choosing the easy option like baldimor. Pacquiao did the opposite of this and he fought the best this is why he got respect from many boxing fans. His past two fights have been against fighters who were slow and had no chance of beating him admittedly they were far bigger bigger than him. Now instead of fighting Berto or Marquez he is fighting and old Mosley who is going to be nearly 40 years old once they step into the ring.

My question is: Is Manny Pacquiao milking his success and fame by fighting Shane Mosley?

    Mosley vs Marquez/Berto, who wins?
    Margarito vs Marquez/Berto, who wins?

Manny only needs one fight and that is Mayweather. In the meantime, he's making the biggest paydays possible. Can't hate on him for doing that as he heads for retirement with nothing else left to achieve. After all he has already paid his dues fighting the very best for so many years like you said.

I actually support Pacquiao when he fights; this thread was a just a suggestion. Head to Head i think mosley beats marquez and berto is 50/50, but both of those fights have more meaning than mosley

mosley is the first real money intended fight, clottey was a substitute where bob arum had inhouse possibilities in case clottey won, margarito was to pick up a belt.
But be happy it looks like marquez fight is next in november.

Not how it works, styles make fights sure, but at welter Margo/Mosley are still tougher fights than Marquez and unproven Berto

He's beating all the best Welters, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey......Took out the 140 king in Hatton. Milking? Nah. Berto is so ****ing overrated it's untrue but Pac would kick his arse too.

Who has Berto beaten? Pretty sure Berto got outworked and out boxed by Collazo, I guess Berto deserves a shot at the p4p #1 because he has no fanbase at all and beat Carlos Quintana?

Marquez had a gut at 147lbs, that fight would happen anytime if and when Marquez leaves GBP.

Not really. Who is Berto? The guy had his chance to fight someone decent to prove himself and he chooses lower ranked Hernandez and now a 140 lber Ortiz. Beating Mosley, albeit an old and shot version might end up looking better than Berto. We'll have to wait and see what Berto does from here

Manny is fighting Shane because he is the most profitable fight at the moment aside from Floyd. Nothing more, nothing less. I'd do the exact same thing. Other fighters can wait. Shane is retiring first before anyone. Might as well profit from him first.

Thats what every boxer does or should do, smart boxers build a reputation some fame and then get as many easy paydays as they can. You cant fight all comers thinking you are invincible. Cotto is doing it by fighting mayorga that's a name fight.

You can go on and on juanma is doing it by not fighting the top guys. He knows his career is short and is about making money then you make history.

    :hat

If Pac beat Berto people would say ....Who had Berto beaten he was overrated anyway
    he should have fought
If Pac beat JMM........ JMM was too small for that weight, Pac had beaten him before
    he should have fought
If Pac beat Williams..... Williams is a glass jaw who was exposed by Martinez
    he should have fought
If Pac Beat Kahn.... Glass jawed fraud
    he should have fought
If Pac beat Bradley..... Bradley was overrated

The fact is it dosent matter who Pac fights from now on, If Mayweather wont get in the ring with him Pac can fight who ever earns the most money, and why not he has nothing else to prove and he has earned it.
