Apparently the commission issues a fine for 10% and hatton gets 10% of Alvarez's purse as stipulated in the contract. So really they are not taking anything from Hatton. Hatton should've demanded a bit more and threatened to walk, as GBP and the WBC really want this fight to happen to crown their new fake champ.

hatton is making a million in this fight. dlh knew that hatton wouldn't walk from that and be blackballed for the rest of his career. hatton should have drawn up a clause stipulating 200k for each 1/4 pound that alvarez waas over in the original contract.

this fight reminds me of castillo/corrales 2.

A million? Alvarez is getting 350k (-70K now). Where did you read that?

i had 1k on alvarez at -1100 against 140lb light-hitting cotto when alvarez was almost out.

ever since then, i know this guy is a train wreck waiting to happen.

he has probably been ko'd in training and dlh knows that canelo is on borrowed time.

i think 38-year-old, 140 pound marquez beats canelo at 150. Marquez knows it and so does dlh.

What the hell man? Canelo is the one who handpicked a 147 fighter to fight at jr middleweight. Before Hatton accepted, they offered 550K to Senchenko for the fight. Why isn't he fighting a real jr middleweight?

I understand why Margo would agree to a catchweight because Pacquiao is the draw and calls the shots.

What I dont understand is why Alvarez would agree to a catchweight when hes the marque name for this event. Did Matty demand it to be at a 150 catchweight and if Canelo refused than Alvarez would have to fight a legit 154lb fighter for the title?

Alvarez took the fight at 150 because he's a hype job that doesn't want to fight a real contender for the belt.

Bad thing, but Hatton should still take the fight. Alvarez is most probably weight drained and weakened. Should still win by KO though.

Exactly. Catchweights were meant for two marquee fighters to allow them meet on an even playing field. They were never meant for star fighters to cherry pick lesser fighters from a division below.

If Senchenko had accepted the fight, I wonder if it would've been at 147 for WBA title, or at Canelo's usual 150 catchweight? Lol WBA probably would've allowed it for their 147 belt at 150

He's not weight drained and weak. They most likely did this on purpose to ensure he is stronger than Hatton, who had to cut to get down. Ricky Hatton hinted at this the other day.

    ****ing catchweights. :-( :patsch

17 divisions, fight in one of those divisions. Either have it at 147 or 154...not 150 that's just ****ing annoying.

Whatever, decent fight anyway....don't give a **** what "title" is on the table because all of the ABC titles are bull**** and don't mean anything anyway. All the fighters shouldn't pay for the titles, nobody cares about them anyway.
