He's a great fighter, there's no questioning that. I am not pushing his faults under the rug but am just giving him praise. I saw Bonavena-Frazier 1 again and just wanted to give props to Frazier. Is that so wrong? Agreed and like I said earlier, a gutsy fighter. Even if people question his endurance they can't question his heart, not possible. Ali made his life hell and his children's lives hell because they were "Frazier's kids" and Ali was deemed as a "hero" to many. Don't get me wrong I love Ali but I can't blame Frazier for being bitter. He seems less bitter and gave Ali his props in Facing Ali. I recommend you to watch it as it's a great film. 1) I agree. With his come forward style a big puncher would find him but it Joe's heart is the reason I would never count him out against great punchers completely except Foreman. 2) Ali stunned him again in the third fight and had good power, just look at photos of Frazier after Thrilla. I agree with him too but it's like he purposely came here to "rain on the parade" lol. Anyone can highlight one's fault because no human is free of mistakes. He still gives Ali props from time to time so he's not as "whiney" as people make him. I think he also eventually admitted that Futch did the right thing. Not completely bitter in my books.
The things I said are of course a bit exagerrated. Me just having a go. But his reign after FOTC wasn't much to write home about, of course, and I do think he seems bitter and whiney nowadays, sadly. He's got many things speaking to his credit as well, a lot of them in fact. But his status around here is getting Hagleresque and it is already bad enough with Hagler. So...
Yeah, my bad. I don't normally like that kind of behaviour myself. It was just a stockpile of hommage threads about Frazier and I felt for a second like spewing a tenth (rather a hundreth, actually) of the bile that Ali normally gets around here. But you're right. One shouldn't **** on the parade of someone as great as Frazier. A temprorary slip, that's hopefully all.
You don't have to apologize you're a great poster and I have nothing against you or any other poster. I actually like Ali and Frazier and give props to both great fighters. That's true and he is still a bit bitter though his problems with Ali have drastically simmered down. Hagler is one of my favs but I admit that even he whined about the Leonard fight but gave away the first few rounds which was not bright at all.
Frazier admitting Futch did the right thing(Finally lol). [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EEV2UwTZyI[/ame] Frazier and company giving respect to Ali. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4OCBoN_fMM[/ame]
Of course Eddie Futch did the right thing. What sort of trainer would ignore the pleas of his own fighter after fourteen rounds under such heat? Would have been heartless of him to have simply ignored him.
I'm glad Frazier realized this too. I admit that I used to think Futch did the wrong thing years ago but after further studying the fight, Futch made the right decision.

As I've often said,Futch displayed great compassion for his fighter. If Eddie had n't have stopped it,Frazier could have been in intensive care afterwards.
