The real reason the Calslappers hate Bernard Hopkins...

How many points did you give to Hopkins for continually holding?

 

Hopkins set the tempo for the most part of the fight.

Hopkins either kept Calzaghe out of range or up close in clinches, he didnt allow Calzaghe to square up at mid range which was what Calzaghe was trying to do.

Even when Calzaghe did begin to find more success around rounds 7 - 10, he was still be disrupted with dirty tactics and being cancelled out by the negativity of BHop.

Calzaghe looked more fustrated and made the most mistakes getting caught in the earlier rounds.

Hopkins just looked tired and looked like he needed to lie down for a few minutes.

 

They hate him because he knocked down their boy, there's a legitimate argument he won their fight, and he's still fighting and still relevant years after Joe decided to retire. It's simple.

I've given Joe his props for years even as a Hopkins fan. It's funny how "Calslappers" can't return the courtesy.

Hopkins landed very few solid shots, less than Calzaghe. Calzaghe landed more in all departments. Holding and hitting isnt meant to be scoring shots. I admit Calzaghe did flap at times but he also landed many more solid shots more often than Hopkins.

- Outlanded Hopkins
- Landed more on Hopkins than anyone ever
- Denied Hopkins his usual strong finish
- Scored the single highest score against Hopkins ever
- Had 2 judges agree on 9 of the rounds to show Calzaghes dominance
- If Hopkins thought he was winning he wouldnt have been looking to get points deducted off of Calzaghe
- Had Hopkins hanging on trying to buy time

- Beat Hopkins sandwiched between Hopkins best victories of Tarver, Wright and Pavlik
- Beat Hopkins at a new weight
- Beat Hopkins in America with 3 American judges and Cortez as ref, who let Hopkins hold illegally and use the head illegally

Facts.


Calzaghe didnt beat Hopkins on workrate, Calzaghe beat Hopkins using ring generalship, and because Calzaghe was able to land his left more than Hopkins could land his right.

The real problem is that many people who picked for Hopkins (not all) do so due to racism. Lets remember that Hopkins hasnt been able to win 7 world title fights and 8 fights in total, but the one that really bothers the Hopkins supporters is Hopkins loss to Calzaghe and that Calzaghe scored the single highest score against Hopkins ever. It bugs those Hopkins fans.


You see, Hopkins fought a close fight with Pascal and Taylor twice which gets alot less mentioned, but what the Hopkins fans really cant take is that Calzaghe beat Hopkins, for whatever reason. It really bugs the Hopkins fans

 

I dont hate Hopkins at all and give him alot of credit. Hopkins was the genuine MW champ

Maybe its the Hopkins fans that have trouble accepting Calzaghe

 

I don't see why some posters see it as a win for Hopkins.

Are they blind. Throwing 1 or 2 punches occassionally, although may land won't win you a fight.[ Calzaghe simply outworked him

Hate on others are somthing kids and girls do! I`m sure most Calzaghe fans dont hate Hopkins, they just dont like him!

 

Calzaghe fought only bums and old men anyway.
