    I know a lot more about small Asian fighters than I did three years ago. This thread gave me a good start on directing my studies. Just wanted to bump it up. Also, I'd be interested in opinions on how far Pac has moved up this list in three years. Number 1? Putting aside Donaire's American citizenship, where would he be on this list?

    You have missed Ceferino Garcia,of the Phillipines,who as middleweight was probably the Orient's best big fighter...First to immortalize the "bolo punch ".

    Beating Cotto(even if i have little time for the eyebrow plucker)would have moved pac up to number 1 for me, all things considered.I don't think he's the necessarily the most talented or formidable h2h, but i've no problem giving him his dues.He's turned out to be far more dedicated able to maintain a high level over a longer period of time than most of the other standouts, which should be a key factor in a balanced rankings attempt.

    Donaire is too early to bother imo.In this context he really hasn't done all that much yet.Him being a prime example of hte kind of weight cutting for advantage mentality you can see over the past 15 years doesn't sit well with me, far to reliant on athleticism and smaller fighters not being able to take loaded up single counters so far.The potential for continued imrpovement is certainly there though.

    Or Arbachakov for that matter since the Oblast he was from in Russia is positioned North in between Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Although they weren't trained in a Asian school/style of boxing. Depends on definition i suppose.
