Was anyone else shocked that Broner got the decision?

When the scores were announced, I was pretty sure that Ponce De Leon was going to get his hand raised. He did the better work throughout the fight, IMO. Won the early and late rounds, out-threw and out-landed Broner over the course of the fight. I had it 96-94.

    ................but 99-91 for Broner? :admin

    That is just downright disrgraceful.

Ponce better give hell to whoever is responsible for this.

    How did you see it?

    No Workrate, no win.
He never won the fight. The last rounds, he did nothing. Ponce de Leon was not the better boxer, but he was the better fighter.

I am absolutely gutted for Ponce. Couldn't have happened to a more honest fighter.

This kid has nothing to brag about. I hope he gets a taste of his own medicine.

No I wasn't surprised. It happens all the time in boxing.

Not surprised at all. Broner was undefeated and they'd rather not take his 0 unless they have to.

No way GBP was gonna let someone who was gonna immediately go back to 126 take away the "0" of a 130 prospect.

    Boxing is corrupt.

In hindsight, yeah, it's not surprising that Broner got the decision.

But when those scores were being read out, it just felt like Ponce De Leon has won it. He certainly deserved to.

    Feel sorry for the guy.

Rubbish fight. Not so great decision.

Not surprised to see him win though

I thought deleon should have gotten the win or at least a draw. 96-94 is ok score for me but 99-91? WTF:patsch

I thought Broner won. His counters and lead rights were too crisp.

They were, but he didn't throw nearly enough to win 6 rounds, never mind 9.

Not surprised at all. This was a GBP card with a former champ, overweight, against an undefeated, inactive "slick African-American" nobody prospect. Of course the judges were bought.

I got the sinking feeling of a hose job before the final round. It's in the thread if you want to verify.

I thought he won 96-94. It was definitely close, but I thought he won rounds 1, 4-7, and 10.
