Why is he charged for assault then mate?

The point Im making is at that time in the morning all players with his profile are targets for **** heads to pick fights with....thats all...if you look at the times when the NRL players make the news it's always very late in the morning

 

Benji had spent the night at a charity ball that didnt finish until 1am... where he managed to help raise 250k for cancer i believe. He was out for a quick drink afterwards with his girlfriend. All very low key reports suggest

As usual, some idiot wanted a story to tell his grandkids and maybe make some money so he pushed Benji to breaking point. I am biased because i ****en love the tigers but seriously, you can only push someone so far. Marshall gets targeted HEAPS. I have seen him out a few times, even been out with him and Bronson Harrison with a mutual friend and every second idiot has a poke at them trying to get them to throw a punch. They are extremely well disciplined under the circumstances.

If you swear at a policemen they can detain you. If you swear at a member of the public or racially insult them they have to just take it, even with you chasing after them going off like a ****.

The fact that he was out at 3am is moot. Even in the off season when they have no games or anything this **** still happens. The cops are off their ****ing head, god damn politically correct nonsense. Each case should be treated on its own merits and in this case they should say to the bloke Benji hit "your an arsehole, you obviously baited him, you deserve it now **** off and be happy he didnt kill you"

not like he was pissed and got behind the wheel, he also had his woman with him and was prob trying to look after her as well... bunch of drunks can freak a girl out

 

c'mon mate the guys work their guts out and they arent entitled to have some MacDonalds? you cant put a curfew on all footy players, let alone before the season has even started

 

so deal with them, not the player going about his business.

Marshal needed to walk away no mater what some pissed guy called him....if it was a clear case of Marshal defending himself after being attacked the other guy would be charged.....sounds like it was in public with plenty of people watching on

Its said Marshal ended up smashing the guy so it's going to come down to who has the best legal team with the most cash...looks like Marshal will be fine :yep

still... in you walk up to an italian, a lebanese or whatever bloke and say "your a dirty wog" you are going to get belted 9 times out of 10

they might get done for assault but your the silly **** that caused it, and i think that should be taken into consideration

 

Rusty, Teke and DR....sorry I cant agree....being a high profile player with sponsors paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to the club and game they need to make sure they stay on the straight and narrow

The NRL is a family game and thats what the sponsors pay for....I would say this thing happens every week but the player decides to walk away and not fight

I dont agree with any racist remarks at all.....Marshal is a poster boy for the game...he cant be punching on at 3am for christ sake atsch

 

It will be for sure mate...nobody would think Benji just smashes a guy without being provoked....but the law says it needs to be physical threats...not verbal insults that lead to assault.....for the record I hope he gets off ok :good
