Roy is always great to listen to, killerman usually kills it and gives roy little to work with often resulting in roy schooling him and laughing at the guy.
Hes not convince like many of us about Alvarez, but sees the potential esp. with the amazing support Canelo is getting from boxing fans.
This forum is ridiculous. He's an ATG in boxing, his commentating will never measure up. Unless you are referring to his pitful boxing career of recent years, then we can all agree. At least commentating he can save himself from further brain damage.
He said "Mexican" like 1,000,000,000x (kinda annoying) & the Darren Van Horn comment was funny especially when Max added his 2 cent's... (The Iran Barkley destroyed him in 2, was Gold Jerry it was "GOLD") But other than that, Jones Jr's announcing is always on point. Glad he is back on the team.
People say this, but when you have a world class boxer giving you color commentary and quality insight into the actions of the fight from the fighter's perspective, the other color commentary guy should yield. The other 'color' man in the booth should be teeing up the questions for the color commentary man with ring experience. He should be probing with questions for the benefit of the fans (see Max asking Roy about Bronner's pressing the action and Roy responding with how young fighters against southpaws need to be careful) This is something Larry Merchant STILL doesn't get. Only noobs and haters tune in to hear him disparage the action in the ring or argue with E. Stewart/Foreman/RJJ/Lennox etc.
It boils my blood when I hear sports people referring to the fictional bronze age character. EG I loved Hamed but cringed when he talked about Allah. God now has no place in a civilised, progressive 21st century world and has never had ANY place in sport.
