:bart 1. I'd go out on a limb and say Hatton's Chin>Cotto's. 2. Ortiz expossed himself as a kid who couldn't take the pressure. (If anything it was MM's recoup skills that shined & bright)
Miguel hasn't been anywhere near as dominant as he was at 140, at 147 he struggled with any fighter with skill, the fact that it took him as long as it did to take out Foreman with a bad leg and pillow punches should tell you Cotto is out of his depth at 154 and has a high probability of being put to ****ing sleep by Mayorga.
Based on what exactly? Hatton was nearly flattened by a single hook from Yuri Nuzhnenko two fights ago. :huh
Based on Cotto has been forced into retreat mode many x's, And has always had a shaky chin from the start of his career. It's not a knock on him, But MC has been stopped. (Again not trying to disparage the guy he has the biggest "Balls" in the sport) IMO, 154lbs he is in over his head.
yeah Torres and Corley hurt Cotto bad at 140, Mosley, Margo, Judah, and Manny hurt him at 147, Pillows Foreman was stunning him at 154 at times.
This isn't true at all. Prior to weight struggles, Cotto was known for having a rock solid chin. Jim Lampley used to say he took punches like he was wearing a helmet and he was often matched with fighters with punching power (i.e. Randall Bailey), unlike most prospects today, who are seemingly steered away from them. Regardless, Cotto was never stopped early in his career like Hatton, nor was he ever in as much trouble as Hatton was by a fighter on the level of Nuzhnenko. There is simply no evidence there to suggest Hatton has a better beard than Cotto. Cotto at 154 is no more in over his head than his blown up lightweight brother was who still came close to knocking Canelo out.
Alvarez has never been as good as Cotto, and probably never will be. Two losses to super elite ATG Pac and a cheating Margo and Cotto gets very underrated. THIS is what a prospect looks like: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lC-ERQXHFI[/ame]
canelo isnt ready to be in cotto's league. he is still far too young and unaccomplished. cotto destroys him
Cotto was fighting in the Amateurs participating in many Tournaments and even went to the Olympics before turning pro Canelo turned pro at 15 with No Amateur experiece.. 2 different fighters from different circumstances. That's the thing with Fighters you can't really compare cotto was special in his own way, as canelo is special in his own way.
