I'd tend to make a distinction between Louis and counter-pressure, maybe. Louis, maybe, is a stalker, psychological more than physical pressure oftentimes, including a persistent challenge to the oppontnet fight plan.

This helps with this distinction between swarming and non-volume pressure, also.

Of course Louis has great drawing skills, amongst the best i've seen.

I think the thread starter is rather looking for a term to describe fighters who use pressure to create openings for their own counter punches. A boxer-puncher doesn't necessarily do this, a Thomas Hearns is quite far from a Dick Tiger. Counter-pressure or an aggressive counter-puncher is a more fitting term to use.

Yeah either of those are good terminology for it. Having good power is certianly a necessity for the style.

I don't think he's a pressure fighter and there's no way it's a "definite". The goal of a pressure fighter is to put on pressure. Outworking someone does not equal putting pressure on.

Why wouldn't you include Floyd? The Judah and Mosley fights are a perfect example of what you're describing. He walked them down behind a tight defense and countered the hell out of them. In fact, I think James Toney is a good example of counter pressure, too.

:goodSounds like an oxymoron, but isn't. These are fighters who actively seek out countering opportunities through baiting the opponents, rather than simply waiting for them to come.

Yeah, Addie's higlight of Myug Woo Yuh shows some great displays of this, I wouldn't label him as such though.
