Good list and some 'new' names Bugger.

Griffo vs McAulliffe is an interesting choice - though McAulliffe did win a world title and remain undefeated.

Griffo's often forgotten when these things come up, and his performance against a young Joe Gans is probably also noteworthy - but so long ago, and hard/impossible to get footage.

Lester always wanted the fight, Fenech never did, at least not after he got starched by Ellis in a sparring session.

Troy Waters v Terry Norris was an exciting affair whilst it lasted, proving troy to be another Aussie of world class.

Troy sure gave 'Terrible' Terry a brief wakeup call - but for the most part it was Norris in control.

If only Troy had been able to capitalise on that window of opportunity when Norris went down, was noticeably disoriented, and perhaps even hurt.

Is that really fact? I've heard both sides of that story. One side claiming it as fact, the other obviously disputing it ever happened...

What about the Briggs vs Adamek wars?

They weren't wins for Briggs but they were bloody great fights.

Yep, not only that but Adamek has gone on in leaps n bounds since then.

Talking about Troy Waters, he also went toe to toe with Simon Brown for 12rds for the WBC or WBA belt i think around the time of the Norris fight.

    Good get IBM.

The Wheatley book had Briggs vs Drews in it's Top 40, and though that was a great performance, and a win for Briggs, his efforts against Adamek shouldn't be forgotten.

Both Adamek bouts were certainly wars, and in each case one of the judges scored the bout even, so the judges thought it was close too.

    No tomatoes comin from me...

although i wouldn't have Green's win over Jones in my top 10.

Great performance.. yes... top 10. no imo

I'd say at the stage of his career that Roy and Danny fought.. Roy was there to be taken out.

I'd defo put Vic's win over Christan Mijares in there instead. Mijares was rated top 10 p4p at the time n Vic pummelled him. winning the undisputed title in the process

Yeah dude Vic winning over Mijares was a massive achievement.. def deserves top 10 IMO

Danny's win over Roy was a good one, but not as good as some make out. Roy's legs had gone, his punch resistance was all but gone, he didnt have the reflexes to keep a big puncher off him and his hand speed was really all he had left. If you watch his fight against Lacy again you can see that the guy was just a stationary target that Roy could unload on like a heavybag. Still, i didnt think it would be a 1 round blowout

If I was to put a Green performance in CHB's top 10, I'd put either his DQ loss to Beyer or his win over Lucas.

His win over RJJ was sensational, but only due to the circumstances surrounding it all. As a fight it barely happened :yep

    Good list though CHB :good

Notice you don't have Kunga's loss to RJJ or Taylor's loss to Mosley in there anywhere

Had Vic vs Mijares about next in my list (ie #11 or 12).

Green vs Jones is certainly one of the hardest to grade, and Roy was certainly over the hill, and some would argue totally shot.

    Poor Kelly!

The sort of KO you'd only see in a tent.

Blair 'Cowboy' Wilson would have been proud of Roy's effort with both hands behind his back.
