Richardson didn't come up with a genius gameplan to beat Margarito. On that night, any trainer in the world could have been in Mosley's corner and he would have won. Margarito was never there mentally and he was there for the taking. The only thing Mosley added was holding. Hardly a ****ing masterstroke.

People love to talk about Richardson like he's a genius. He's a decent trainer who has book of poems to come up with catchy sayings. That's all.

    :patsch Oh god its jack.

Margarito is not a mental boxer. Its not like he's out there trying to out think his opponent. He's a guy who relies on being bigger physically and being able to outlast his opponent. As to why he usually outweighs his opponents in the ring by 10+lbs.

People saying that he was not mentally in the fight are ******ed. Mosley beats his ass regardless, and its clear that Naz gameplan was for Mosley to maintain the range he did throughout the fight.

Chavez, Olivares, and Barrera had good fundamentals and fought pretty different than Angulo & Margarito. Not all mexicans fight alike. Not every fighter from an ethnicity fights the same period.

Mosley jabs to the body, Floyd brings his right down, Mosley follows up with the overhand right.

Funny that Naz described this combo before and after the fight, yet according to Freddy its the same "hayemaker" he always throws.

You know what's funny? After the Mosley/Margarito and Hopkins/Pavlik fights, a lot of people on here were saying "Richardson is the best trainer in the world" and other bull****. Even Hopkins, his best fighter, admits Roach is.

Honestly, I don't know what Richardson has done. He's had some very gifted fighters who've put in great performances but that doesn't make him a tactical genius. Sure, he can read the sport but so can other trainers, like Beristain, Steward and so on. I don't think Richardson is as good as those and even if he potentially is, he hasn't proven it yet. He's not made a fighter and he's not come out with a great gameplan.

People like to believe in these characters though. They want to believe he's a genius but he isn't. He's a good trainer and that's it. Talking about dragons doesn't make him Ray Arcel or Eddie Futch.

A jab to the body and right to the head is revolutionary now? Come off it. It's a basic move.

And for the next 10 rounds, Roger Mayweather gave his nephew instructions about how to avoid that and other moves. Richardson did nothing apart from quote lines from Harry Potter.

 So Richardson taught Mosley how to throw a jab to the body followed by the right?? Man that's some wizard like boxing knowledge by Richardson.

    What an incredible blueprint

i think floyd deserves more credit then what he gets in terms of his mosley fight.he was hurt in 2nd rd but he survived it because he knew how to block and tie up.people seem to think mosley let him off the hook, NNNOOOOOOOOOO mayweather got off the hook by his own and was even fireing back at the end of the rd.

Isn't that what you do everyday on the forum when you're preaching about USA vs UK?

By "mental", I don't mean Margarito was trying to outsmart Mosley. He was smiling at every huge shot he took, he shook hands with Mosley after getting knocked down, he was smiling after getting knocked out.

The way he fought was like he had nothing to give. I don't even know if he was seriously trying to win. He'd already been caught for the wraps and he knew his career was likely to face severe punishment. If you think he was there mentally on that night, you're simply wrong.
