    I agree with this.

Alvarez doesn't have one great quality that will see him through IMO.

I don't see him suddenly punching hard when he fills into a middleweight. Hasn't fought any punchers yet either, always a concern.

He'll fight someone like Alfonso Gomez next IMO, another sturdy non-puncher best suited to 147. Joel Julio would be a better choice IMO, a bit more dangerous but not completely dangerous.

No need to rush this kid. As he's not unbelievably good no point in feeding him tithe lions. His development so far is really good, but as he doesn't have the dig nor boxing ability to fend off the vest yet, it's best to give him a chance to develop further.

But as said, short of a miracle I don't see him turning onto a P4P top five fighter.

I can't see him lasting long but thats in the real world & not the GBP land of OZ. That manster Margarito would smash the kid up so bad he'd look like a ****in jigsaw puzzle with half the pieces missing & it goes without saying that Cotto would dissect him along with Clottey. He's the new kid on the block being preped to replace the above generation so i would have thought that it's going to be a JCC jr showdown in about 18 months 2yrs maybe as that in theary should be a big earner. I don't accept the age part here, he's a pro with a plenty fight background. Looking at his frame he'll be a 160 in the not to distant future. They'll match him safely to suit GBP earning expectations.

Not Impressed. He couldn't even get Magic Matt out of there. He is being over hyped as he is Mexican and no one else is really coming through from there at the moment.

I really like this kid .. reminds me of a mini tyson ... quick and powerful in both hands , built like a bull and a good combination puncher...

Wouldnt mind seeing him in with Miguel Cotto now that would be a test .. but lets face it hes only 20 and despite having 37 fights hes still got plenty to learn and developing his strength.

Its good to see a fighter want to fight ... 6 fights in the last year including Jose Cotto, Baldomir , Hatton and Ndou ! ... you can only admire the lads willingness to fight and hes an example to a few who wanna take the pay cheque once or twice a year...

One concern would be the way he fights how many miles would he have on the clock ? Could he adapt his style the older he gets to prelong his career ?

Overall I like the guy and wish him success... and if he continues and improves he could be something very special....

Again, fair enough. It's my opinion that I completely disagree :good

Stylistically Alvarez does nothing particularly well IMO. He's certainly not a Benitez-esque young phenom.

the posatives about him are he is a decent fighter to watch, certainly not boring and he sells tickets in the USA which is rare.

could he beat any of the top guys at 147-154....no way. Pacquiao, Mayweather, Berto, Clottey, Cotto, Williams, Cintron, Angulo, Mosley all **** him up big time.
