wlad's speed is incredible underrated here. it's his speed why he is so good, he has incredible fast hands and great footwork. you haye fanatics don't get it. haye has faster hands, but his footwork is slow as **** and ****. haye will be surprised how fast wladimirs hands are. wladimir looked faster then fast eddie chambers. thats sums it up, and eddie chambers has great hand speed
Wlad has good speed. Haye is faster though, not massively faster, but he is faster. Wlad has good footwork, Haye doesn't. But their footspeed is probably comparable, Haye probably having the slight edge.
Wlad's footwork may not be his best asset, but it is leaps and bounds above Haye's. Haye's footwork is among the worst and awkward I've ever seen at HW. He allows himself to be wide open and off-balance, standing on one foot at times with his body tilted to the other side. You see that in lower weight-classes more often, rarely at HW. This amateurish footwork and balance has rarely been punished in Haye's recent HW campaign, thanks to his choice of older opponents with slow reflexes. A single of Wlad's jabs would knock him down (not out, but down) if he's caught off-balance like that. I suspect he'll be much more careful with his balance with Wlad, otherwise he's completely nuts. Haye's hand-speed is faster than Wlad's. There's no denying that. Do not confuse hand-speed with defensive agility and skills however. I see that done a lot around here.
I think aspects of Wlad's hand speed are faster. For example, his ability to hook off the jab, and to double up or triple up his left hook requires excellent speed. I don't think Haye can do that. Haye's punches are unorthodox, and he does them quickly. Wlad's punches are orthodox and he does them quickly too. Would Haye's punches be as fast if he had them under better control or thrown with correct technique? No. Wlad throws correctly, with balance and damn fast. Would Haye be as fast as Wlad if he threw correctly? Maybe. Would Wlad be as fast as Haye if he threw as sloppily? Maybe.
