I thought he was going to start disagreeing with Roy Jones when he started asking him whether Canelo could eventually develop into a Boxer puncher like Barrera, I thought oh know dont do that, Roy will make you look an arse infront of everyone.

antonio tarver is a far far better commentator than jones, when jones cant explain something he goes onto pull rank and says he knows because he has been in the ring, tarver actually explains his point when his colleagues disagree.

I don't dislike him as much as I used to.

It's just his voice that does your head in.

His positive points are that he'll criticise officials and sanctioning bodies..... I thought he was going to go into meltdown when the decision was announced for Cintron/Martinez.

Max is a GREAT guy. I met him at the Donaire Montiel weighin and he was spot on with his predictions about the fight. Got a nice picture with him too. :thumbsup

Rogan is very objective when he doesn't have his UFC hat on. But he knows next to nothing about boxing.

No, you sure ain't the only one. And why is he on tv? Because rich Manhattan daddy Doctor Kellerman has a lot of important media connections, that's why.

I use to REALLY REALLY hate him. He came across that seemed to try hard to sound profound and deep with his pre-fight and during-fight analysis. Often it just came out as non sensical hyperbole (aka Vivek Wallace method).

He has gotten much better. He has cut down on the unnecessary hyperbole and more exact in his description and analysis.

He has also the balls to call out certain things regarding the industry. There are no Sacred Cows. He has called out PBF, Pac, Arum, GBP, etc.

Considering that can affect HBO's relationship with these groups, more power to him in that regards. But unlike Larry Merchant, I still need to see him seem use his intelligence and position to get anything accomplished. Larry has at least given us fights like Pac vs ODLH.

So before I had him 2/10.
    Now I have him 5.5/10.

He still needs to cut some more of that hyperbole and stop comparing everything and anything to life, movies and music. Sometimes a punch is just a punch.

    BTW

Rogan's technical knowledge of MMA >>>>>>>>>>>>> Kellerman's non existent technical knowledge of boxing

I would bet Rogan knows more about the technical aspect of punching and slipping than Kellerman.

But Kellerman knows more about the business part of the industry more than Rogan's knowledge of his.

You just lost ALOT of money... Rogan knows **** all about boxing. He's knowledge is no different to the average pug that posts on here.

I think you may want to read that post again. I did not say Rogan is a Brother Naz. I say he knows more than Kellerman which is not much considering Kellerman knows less than an ESB poster. At least Rogan knows a lazy jab will get beaten by a meaningful hook. Kellerman would say something along the lines of "What an awesome display of technical prowess. Such heart and mind of a great warrior."

Basically, he just said absolutely something that is meaningless.

Have you ever listened to his technical analysis during fights? It is cringe worthy at times.

Max tells it like it is and i like that. No, he's not an X's and O's guy like a former fighter might be but he doesn't try to come off as such.
