Who although early in their career do you think will become a world champ My guesses Helenius Cleverly DeGale Possibly F Gavin Cleverly isnt as early in his career as the others and not really a fair guess to put as his next fight is a title fight. I did say early, still I will leave him now. Who have you got?
Helenius? Why? I think deGale and Cleverly are good shouts to hold championships at some point. They're both in with a good crop of young fighters, some of whom like Ward, Dirrell and Cloud are already fighting for straps. Gavin...not so sure. The skill is there yes, so is the athletic talent to a lesser degree, but I'm not sure how committed he is? Thoughts?
Good post. Gavin Im not sure has the punch power but am giving hima chance due to great amateur pedigree. Helenius - Every time I have seen him he has impressed me in some way. I think he can only get better
Helenius - for the same reasons everyone has mentioned. Shawn Porter - because he's young, strong, quick and aggressive. I do think he will be derailed soon when he steps up, but that he will comeback with a world class trainer and become a force. Eddie Chambers - Assuming Wlad steps aside, I think Eddie could pull a W against any HW out there not named Klitschko.
I've never personally been wowed by Helenius but the more I thought about your choice...I was unable to fill the gap with a young up and coming star who could possibly fill the role, so by all means Helenius could be the man. Yes, there is Tyson Fury and I would actually like the guy to go the whole distance as I sometimes feel he is mocked for no solid reason, but he has shown that he is hard to motivate. Not a characteristic of a future champion. Then there is Boystov who I try to watch occasionally but once again I'm not particulary wowed...though into days fractured sport, who is to say they all won't hold a strap at some point? The heavyweight could prove to be just as interesting as the future 168/175 landscape.
Yeah i pretty mouch agree with you, Gavin is 100% commited and he is hungry, he is a member of ESB so carefull what you say about him.
I like the guy, hes a good fighter but you hear these things then see his progress and think there might be some truth to them. Hopefully the guy goes on to do big things, the pedigree and skills are there.
Tyson fury, because by the time he is at the top there will be no klits or haye and he will have a good chance to pick up a belt.
