vargas knocks him out, he has power and was more explosive, at this point he beats him. I hope alvarez doesnt end up like vargas though.

Canelo has skills and talent, but Vargas talent at his age was enough to compete with DLH and Tito. Canelo would get raped by Tito and DLH right now.

DLH and especially Tito would have knocked out Hatton.

everyone talks bout this canello guy but then again nowone thinks this guy can realy beat ne one good. the canello right now would give a prime vargas hell. i cant really say who would win this fantasy matchup but it wouldnt be easy for ne one

 

Its undeniable that this kid is NOT anywhere near the skill set that Vargas had at his age. Come on. Vargas was a elite boxer in a teen's body. Saul is neither.

Hes going to get there, but later than Vargas. Thats a good thing though. Hopefully he'll have a longer and better career.

I believe alot of people look at what alvarez did to baldomir and think he's
a bomber, he just caught and old baldomir. saul doesnt appear to be overly
strong ( he looks it but I havent really seen it) or fast. he's a kid so i cant
lay into him but, vargas was a beast when he was young, ross thompson.
yori boy campas, raul marquez, winky (i thought vargas lost but it was close)
and ike quartey. no way would canelo make it out with a win against them
except for thompson. again he's just a kid so he may develop more. vargas
was quicker and had more power and his chin was proven. vargas by tko round 8

I'm not one of the guys crucifying Alvarez after Saturday night - the kid's only 20 and I think he's coming along quite nicely.

Putting him in with a peak Vargas right now would be suicidal though.

I think Canelo wins. Vargas pre-Trinidad was a very good (not great) fighter. Winky Wright beat his ass and got robbed. I think Canelo would have thrown more punches than Vargas, where him down and knock him out late.
