TOMMY GILMOUR last night vowed to hand Kris Carslaw a crack at the British title.
The light-middleweight from Paisley kept hold of his Masters title on Saturday at Scotstoun after a victory over Willie Thompson.
Carslaw was awarded the 100-90 decision for his 13th straight win, despite hurting his right wrist early in the contest.
He now fancies a go at British champ Sam Webb but hopes Prince Arron can see him off as he too is managed by Gilmour.
Gilmour said: "Kris will get a British title shot now. Ideally Prince Arron will win that but that fight will go ahead no matter what."
The manager was chuffed Carslaw's fight went the distance as he is convinced it boosts his fighter's hopes in a British title fight.
He is convinced Carslaw has the attitude as well as the stamina to land the crown.
Gilmour said: "I'm pleased it went 10 rounds. If he fights the winner of the Sam Webb contest that could go 12 rounds so it is fantastic experience."
Gilmour was raging with ref Victor Loughlin after Paul McElhinney, from Newlands, suffered a second career loss.
In his seventh contest, McElhinney went down on points to Edinburgh's Gareth Stemp in a four-round featherweight bout.
Gilmour said: "Loughlin stopped the fight earlier to pick up the gumshield and the decision should have gone to McElhinney."
Robert "Rocky" Wright lived up to hype surrounding him with an fifth-round win over Adam Hutchison.

Aaron is Webbs mando but Webb is mando for the European. Will work its self out in a few months. Certainly Karlshaw doesn't deserve the fight.

I spoke to Webb a few weeks ago (while he was nice enough to sign a glove for charity), and he confirmed it will be Aarron next.

I think Webb tonks him without too much problem. Aarron can't fight moving backwards. A little bit of pressure and its Duddy all over again!!!

I would like to see Flournoy in the mix but he has dropped off the earth. He gave Danny Butler a lesson.

Aaron looks great going forward but still has zero defence and looks like Wlad walking backwards.

He's improved his attack yes. But he is still wide open going back and I don't believe his chin is up to much.:good

Arron reminds a bit of Ricky burns before he went Billy Nelson gym

Kris got offered the fight when arron then pryce pulled out, he had only started training for his March 5th fight and didnt really want to jump in on short notice though. He is hoping to be out in May and if Arron beats webb(cant see it tbh) then he will definately get the next shot. Not sure if he will be 1st in line if Webb wins though.

you can get 5/1 odds on Arron. Fantastic odds IMO. People forget Arron decisioned Middleweight banger Cello Renda a few years back. Wouldn't surprise me if he took this. If he can get behind his jab I think he'll decision Webb

Hes a best price 7/2. I think webb will win quite convincingly on points, anyone know if this is being shown anywhere?
