I like that he cried...He was probably the most passionate fighter I've seen anytime and anywhere.. All he cared about was winning, not only for himself but for his country. I admire him for that

Duran cried, after wins & losses & it doesnt change my opinion of him a bit.

They were/are both great fighters, though Tito is the more entertaining in/out the ring.

PRs should be very proud of both.

  7. It was Chris Arreola who broke down and cried in the ring after the Klitscho fight. He pulled an Oliver McCall. :crying

There's is really only one thing that bothers me about Tito's career...no rematch with Oscar..that should have happened, I'm still baffled that they never fought again, with that much money on the table he and DLH should've come to an agreement..

Yeah that rematch should've happened. During that time there were a lot of options at those weights though. I dont know if any of them actually pushed for a rematch.

I think Cotto should of stayed at 140 if it was possible. There, he would of been an ATG. Cotto one of my top 3 fighters, he is methodical as he is brutal, reminds me of a blend between Benitez and Chavez. Tito as great puncher as he was was always one dimensional to me. He's use a jab here and there, but without the power, not much there. Cotto is not finished yet, he might still have 2-3 great fights left, and pull an upset for the ages. Personally I like Cotto better than Tito, he seemed more complete to me, but I would be a fool to think Cotto was a better fighter than Tito. Tito's best wins were over a faded Whitaker and a green Vargas. I think Oscar beat him and was a better fighter than Tito. But preMargarito, that Cotto was one of the best fighters I've ever seen and I still think that version was good enough to upset Floyd and maybe even Pacquiao. How the mighty have fallen. I hope Steward can work some magic, because Cotto will have to turn back the clock to face the likes of Kirkland, Angulo, and Margarito.

Weird thread, Reasons listed seem to be more bc of an emotion towards a fighter.
But what separates the two for me is pretty simple...Greatness. Tito had it and Cotto does not. Cotto has been an action packed fighter who I have seen many times on HBO and always delivers a good fight. Cotto is a very good fighter!

With that said.... Trinidad was the better & greater fighter & would have blown him away in a H2H.

Show some respect, Cotto is a warrior, he took his body as far as it was safe to go vs Margo, I dont even need to meet you to guess you woulda quit long before then.... & so would a lot of others tbh.
