    This NEEDS to be made. It has FOY written all over it. There's no way a scrap between these two goes the distance. Both are up and coming stars/prospects. Both are known for their aggressive styles.

    I think Kirkland beats him pretty easy. KO in the middle rounds if it were to happen now.

    What are you basing this on? Kirkland is just as easy to hit and doesn't have a fraction of the variation that Canelo has?

    No ****in way they match Alvarez w/ Kirkland this soon. Still expecting alvarez to take "Berto' type touches for a few more fights. Probably fight a more WW's.

    This has KO of the Year written all over it. Kirkland kills Canelo at this point.

    Kirkland should be approaching his prime while Canelo still needs 2-3 yrs before he approaches his. Kirkland at this point would manhandle him, outhustle him on the inside and on the outside it's 50-50. Not to mention Kirkland will also have a mental edge over Canelo. Kirkland has already been in with the likes of Julio, a respectable powerpuncher. Kirkland is a beast and Canelo is a cub, despite him being champ.:-(

    Canelo has a 154lb title. He's going to have to take fights at 54 now. Unless there's a bunch of Welterweights eager to get a crack at a title at 54 -which i can't envisage- he's clearly going to HAVE to face guys at 54.

    I don't think he's chin is underrated. I actually think he's far more way schooled already than Kirkland who is essentially just a slugger.
    Whilst Canelo can be hit he is a very good boxer. Kirkland on the other hand merely walks his opponent down and throws big punches. Although he is a puncher he's not a concussive puncher who puts them together well. Because he's so easy to hit i actually see this as a stoppage for Canelo, even at this early stage.

    Kirkland goes forward and pushes opponents till the very end, because he didn't fought opponents who would hurt him. thats the way too stop him, if someone comes too you, with his on energy moving into you and you punch him in the face, than he feels it double hard. I know he fought julio and julio is a good puncher, but canelo has the good condition combined with the power, julio only had power.

    The problem with Julio is all he has is heavy hands. Kirkland was able to bully him and do as he pleased. Even when countered he didn't press the action.
    Canelo though has "natural" fighting ability. He's a fighter first a boxer second. Notice when he gets hit every time just like a prime Barrera he wants to fire 3 or 4 back. We know Canelo can go 12 rounds at a very good pace and still carry his power. Can Kirkland?

    I guess Kirkland can, because he realy trains damn hard. But can he fight 12 rnds with somebody as strong as him who can actualy bully him too is another one. Kirkland still tough, hope he gonne fight some name anytime soon.

    he also builds a lot of muscle, which aint a good thing in 12rd fights.....

    thats the thing. if he fought somebody like cintron or angulo, he gonne have somebody physicly as strong as him, pushing him too and he won't be able too go infight all the time, because I don't think he can absorb all the punches he is going too get, because he defence is very open when he just comes in like that.

    those big muscles need oxigen :D
