I probably watch it once a month..and Im still amazed at what happens, especially round 5.

 

I would of paid alot more than $50 to see that bout live, as I am sure would most of these guys.

I have only been to a few live bouts, the biggest being Mundane vs Daniel Geale.

I agree that neither the 2nd or 3rd were as good (the 3rd was better han the 2nd tho)

I scored this narrowly for Morales but in reality it was a 50/50 fight between 2 elite ATGs at their peak, that fight took something from both men even tho they remained p4pers for yrs afterwards.... a draw was the fairest result here as it was not a legit KD scored in rd 12.... Erik seemed to outwork him for most of the rds, throwing & landing more, Marco landed the eye catching spectacular bursts of punches.
Anyone who uses the word `robbery` here should be slapped IMO.

Wonderful, wonderful fight that shows just why these 2 men will go down in history as 2 of the greatest fighters (not just Mexican) of all time.

MAB - 1,2,8,11 & 12.

This doesnt mean I think Morales was superior on this night, as I said before, a draw was fairest.... there were a few rds that Barrera caught Morales real good near the end of the rd & I can understand people giving Marco those rds but for me he was outworked 2-1 for the majority & Morales deserved those rds, specifically rds 7 & 9.

We really couldn't disagree more with round 9. Barrera didn't just land a flush three punch combination that wobbled Morales in the final 10 seconds, he had hurt Morales two times prior to that in the very same round. Morales dominated the middle of the round with a high work rate, but I have honestly never been able to give the nod to Morales in this stanza. Never.

Otherwise, this is the closest fight I think I've ever seen. You can justify scoring it for either man depending on whether you like Erik's work rate, or MAB's accurate combination's. Round 1, for example, I score that for Morales now whereas I always used to score it for MAB.

 

I know. Theres no telling what tommorrow brings. To think, a boxing fan might die without seeing MAB v Morales I is tragic

 

We`ll just have to disagree on rd 9.

I do agree however that this fight can be scored close to either guy (a wide score for either man is blasphemy), I can only pick out a few rds in the whole fight that I can say SHOULD go to the certain fighter with little argument.... rds 2 & 12 for Barrera.... & rds 5, 7 & 10 for Morales.... every other rd is razor tight & needs a lot of studying with no sound to split both men IMO.

Barrera - 2,6,8,9,11,12

That's probably how it should have been scored, without the knockdown in the final round. I'll probably change a few rounds next time I sit down to watch it from start to finish though.

 

The third match was a beautiful fight also. Not as action packed as the first fight, but not as dull as the second. A real great showing of skill and technique.

 

How much did you spend on your paintings? Mine came to about $800, I think.
