There are better fighters more deserving than Canelo like Abner Mares and other hot prospects that are better fighters than him like Mikey Garcia, Alonso Lopez, Alfredo Angulo, and recently crowned champ Brandon Rios just to name a few. Sure, Mexican's will root for a Mexican American, but he'd have to make sure he doesn't lose that connection with the people like Oscar did. I have no problem with Canelo losing he's not even the best prospect from Mexico or Mexican descent.
