So Edgren was the most lauded sportswriter of his generation huh? Now you are talking out of ignorance or just out of your ass. Tell that to Grantland Rice and Damon Runyon who were both copied in style and tone by their peers both during their life and for generations to come. Edgren never saw the day he had the influence, or readership of either of those two. Hell, I can probably think of at least a handfull of other sportswriters of that era who surpassed Edgren in both readership and influence both among fans and within the industry. Thats a funny comment.
Klompton.. you really are an arrogant ****. That pile of **** book you're putting together will give me your name. Should I ever visit the USA again, I look forward to tracking you down and tearing you a second arsehole.

You can have my name right now you Australian dip****: Steve Compton. Anytime you think you are ready to take your dick out of that dingo's ass and come try me you are more than welcome.
I find it funny how in an Australian newsreel, which likely would have picked some of the footage that showed their boy to best advantage, touting a win by an australian over Overlin, it doesnt appear that Henneberry won a second of the footage shown. Typical Australian homecooking. Sinn would be sure to appreciate that.
Such weakness. Bobby, you're an intellectual dwarf if you have to resort to this in an arena where weapons are solely words.
yes but Greb was supposed to be more than that, it has been pointed out that he could box very well, moving, jabbing, feints etc.
I think Ive stated very clearly that I have never made that ascertion or that assumption. Ive also stated very clearly that just because Edgren may not necessarily have been on the take doesnt mean he wasnt biased against Greb.
I'll take that back, but only to a very small extent, because as you correctly stated there were some excellent fight beat writers. But you cannot deny that Edgren was among those writers, and respected by his peers. Edgren (much to your chagrin apparently) was however very much lauded in his time. Also his judgements and quotes about old time fights and fighters, are used very often and continue to be quoted by a number of respected boxing historians. Are all of those historians offbase to cite Edgren? To say he didn't influence and have the respect of industry insiders (and historians nowadays) is an outright false statement on your part.
